good for speakers

i just bought these for 94.99 at best buy online cyber sale, i must say there good speakers but in no way are they great speakers, bass distorts way to easy on small amounts of volume and speakers are not balanced at all with there tone, i have a 400.00 audio card in my computer so i can tell these speakers have many flaws, my old set of altec Lansing where way better and sounded far greater but they died after 10 years of good service and altec stop making high end speakers for computer so bought the klipsh, i will keep them as the price was good and sound right for 100.00 but for the regular price you can find better out there,..... so hard to find anyone now days making any kind speaker that sounds good no matter how much they charge
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Fantastic Speakers, but maybe too much for me.

Overview:
Honestly, these speakers are great. Sound quality is superb and I haven't had so much as a single hiccup from these babies.
But- I personally don't feel they're worth it for the cost. Now I'm not an audiophile and I just want to clarify this. When I listen to music I hear the music and not just the quality of its reproduction... I think I would have been very happy with a $30-$40 set- probably just as happy as I am with these. Maybe they'll convert me, but honestly to the casual listener the difference is barely noticeable in head-to-head tests and with solo play as you'll most often use them I simply can't justify the pricetag when compared to the alternatives.
Pros:
+Great Bass
+Great Sound
+Took these things home for Christmas, and only managed to get to 1/4 total volume before being yelled at by my mother to turn that damned music down.
+Plays all types of music well and is certainly sufficient for gaming
+Meets all needs of a set of speakers
Cons:
-Cost
Other:
*No power switch, I thought this was a bit weird. Just turn it down all the way to avoid drawing power, or so says the manual.
What's great about it: Sound, Looks, THX Cert.
What's not so great: Price, Value

The packaging seemed OK on arrival, I followed the instructions for installation even though this is a simple task, but unfortunately the speakers would not work, not even a chirp- must have been a power problem for nothing to work, I returned them and purchased the BOSE Companion II series speakers, they are working just fine.

I have NEVER taken the time to write a review on a product but I have to put a comment about these speakers. They are fantastic on every level, the price, the sound, the bass.... I go through computer speakers like water and have never found anything that sounds like this. Granted, I just got them so I am not sure the durability (I always seem to have a speaker go out or the sub stops working after a few months) -- but at this point I would have to say...incredible!

Out of the box, the subwoofer is dead. No volume at all. The other speakers are fine.

Bought them a couple of weeks, put them to a test right away at a wedding for a wedding video. speakers worked beautifully. highs were high, mids were great, and the lows thump. what else do you to know other than that they are thx certified, enough said. i owned a pair of the logitech z-2300 before. they worked really well, highs weren't as good as the klipsch but the bass was a little bit better. there are plenty of oomph behind these. they were plenty powerful to fill a large motel hall for the wedding video. a motel hall!! sweet... one of the best things that gets overlooked i think is wiring, hardly any wires on these, no third knob hanging out on the desk, just straight up volume/sub control on one speaker, nice!! if your looking for some sweet comp speakers without the bose price tag.. pick 'em up...
What's great about it: Amazing Highs, Bass Thumps, Control Sub/Main Volume on One speaker, Sweet Price...
What's not so great: None
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
