I needed to replace an old Logitech 2.1 system where the cord had been damaged. I did a little research and found these Klipsch were in my range. I was intrigued since I know Klipsch makes descent speakers. I tried them in the store and thought they were pretty good, definitely better than my old Logitech setup. And they were cheaper by a bit than the Logitech set I bought over five years ago. Once I got them home and set up they seemed a bit flat, especially on the high end. But once I positioned them off the desk and about ear level they sounded better. Once I messed with the treble and base setting as well as my iTunes equalizer they really came alive. I also think they may have needed to be broken in a little. Once I used them for about ten hours they really improved. The sound stage is well defined and the tone is balanced from low to high frequency. Nothing dominates too much. They are a little too warm, but that mellowness is welcomed at my desk while working or reading. I've also noticed they give older recordings and acoustic recordings a nostalgic feeling that I really like. I highly recommend these and I would at twice the price.
What's great about it: Clean base, well balanced sound
What's not so great: Needs correct placement and some fiddling to get that great sound
I would recommend this to a friend!

I've had these since Xmas 2013 and I love them. The bass is rich and fills the room. Its simple plug and play setup is a breeze just speaker wires a power plug for the sub and a 3,5MM jack and your good to go. This is by no means a flaw but if you live in a dorm/apartment you might want to consider getting a pair of high quality headphones. Like I said above they do produce a lot of sound even at next to no bass enabled. The sad thing is without the sub these would just be plain old computer speakers. Other than that these are amazing speakers. Cheers
What's great about it: These little guys will fill a room with sound.
What's not so great: I can't think of anything.

I needed to replace my JBL pebbles speakers because it lacked power. I was undecided with these klipsch or Bose companion speakers. After I did my research I decided to go with these instead of Bose. These speakers were about $40 more than the Bose but a bonus subwoofer was a gain. Wow, wow and Wow again. I was almost literally blasted and very impress with the power and clarity they possess!

These speakers were hands down the best in it's class plus even better than speakers above its class to a certain extent. Bass is super clean, VERY DEEP. Reminds me of my car stereo subwoofers when I was in high school. Anyways, I picked it up for $99 bucks a few months ago. I couldn't believe the price! I should have bought 4-5 more of these for each room in the house + the garage. This is a real subwoofer, not a fake one like other companies make. Bought one by Logitech one time, and when it blew up, I took it apart, and the subwoofer size was misleading. It had a fake circle shaped into a sub shape. The speaker was actually half the size inside the cube. Go figure. One annoying thing is, it doesn't have a power button. It's always on, and I'm too lazy to unplug it. A bit annoying but I can live with it.
What's great about it: Super simple setup, Super good quality sound
What's not so great: No Power button

Bought these to replace old Bose 2.1 speakers, and these sound better. The bass is a bit much, but turn it down and everything is good. Also hook up to a TV for much better sound.

I purchased these speakers about 7 years ago (thats right, 7 years...). The first thing you should notice is that Klipsch has been selling these exact same speakers for that long unchanged. While the other brands in the computer speaker category change their product line constantly, Klipsch has not touched theirs because there is no need.
I compared these directly with a friend's comperable 2.1 bose computer speaker system. There are some slight differences here and there but mostly personal prefference. Otherwise, they both sounded excellent (though I thought my Klipsch sounded a little better#. The biggest difference: I paid $120 for my Klipsch and he paid $300 for his Bose
The speakers have a very good range with exceptional clarity even from a headphone jack. They can crank up louder than any normal person would ever need sitting at their computer and not sacrifice clarity when doing so. The bass is tight, rounded, and very nicely matched wit the the speakers and can rumble an entire room if you ask it to. This is one of the biggest distinguishing factors to the Klipsch vs other computer speaker sets. The Bass on other sets simply can't keep up and feels more like a novelty thing when compared.
One great feature is there is an input on the side of one of the speakers where you can plug in any device using a standard headphone cable. I've used this to plug in an ipod at a party, inputs from old gaming consols, etc. You can do this while leaving it plugged into the computer. Furthermore there is also a headphone outet where you can easily add headphones.
My only negative is a small one and is about the nobs for the volume. They feel a bit fragile, but i've treated them nicely and have not had a problem with them yet #after 7 years).
If you've never owned a set of Klipsch speakers, make the jump and you will not be dissapointed. I don't buy any other brand now.
