I normally do not write reviews, however these speakers were amazing. I have had them for a while and sound quality is AMAZING... blows Bose speakers out of the water. I initially bought the BOSE computer speakers and was extremely disappointed and took them back to the store the same day. A friend of mine who is also a musician suggested this brand and I haven't looked back since. The volume is phoneminal. I have my sound up 1/4 of the way and it's plenty loud. My sub is up about half way and is extremely powerful it doesn't even have to be up that much, just like feeling the music as well as hearing it. I'm extremely picky when it comes to sound for my music. These speakers by far have exceeded my expectations and would suggest this for anyone who wants to get "blown away" but of course in a good way :o)
What's great about it: Sound Quality, Good Price, Surpasses BOSE,
I would recommend this to a friend!

These things are just STUPID. I had a pair of Altec Lansing VS4121 2.1 speakers (about 5 years old) that sounded really nice for $79.00. I was suffering a little mid-life crisis and decided that I needed a new set of computer speakers. I decided to buy these because of their price/customer review ratio. I looked at the Bose speakers, but cost was too high and they are a lot like my stereo (Bose) speakers, no mid-range or treble. Did I mention that these Klipsch are STUPID? i set these up on my p.c. and was instantly impressed. I had to get into my equalizer and tone the highs down a few notches because the cymbals were making my ears bleed. Manual suggests setting the sub dial to about a 10 o-clock position, I set it to 12 o-clock because I like to lose control of all bodily function. I succeeded. After changing my pants I played around with them some more. I am hearing high end sounds that were not apparent on my Altecs. The Sub will make glass shatter. All in all, I am very impressed. It will give my wife something else to nag about. It won't matter since in about a week I will be deaf.
What's great about it: Price/customer review ratio
What's not so great: Doing more laundry

I bought this to play vinyl on and combined with the inexpensive Audio Technics turntable I get an amazing compact awesome sounding vinyl experience. Much better than anything I had growing up, much better. The Subwoofer is astounding.
What's great about it: The sound, bass and treble
What's not so great: Nothing

I work part time as a second audio engineer at a local live music venue with 2,000 seats, and in my living room I have the same B&W speakers used at Abbey Road. I'm not trying to boast, of course not, but I hear the best of them on a daily basis.
Believe me when I tell you the Klipsch 2.1 is the best computer speaker set available for $150. It blows Creative and Logitech away. Bose 2 channel setups can't keep up.
The frequency response is smooth throughout the entire spectrum, and the 8" woofer blends harmoniously with the 2 satellite speakers.
I don't always agree with horn tweeters, but Klipsch is well known for having perfected the science. This is also evident in this system. The highs sound sweet and crisp, but not overly harsh.
You could invest your $150 in stylish looks (JBL), or digital input (Logitech), or a name (Bose), but wouldn't you rather spend it on SOUND QUALITY?
Every penny of your $150 is invested in sound quality. The Klipsch 2.1 delivers the goods.
What's great about it: Sound quality
What's not so great: Ugly, thin wires

Bought it a few hours ago from my local store and all I can say is WOW. It seemed a bit pricy to me for a set of 2.1 computer speakers, but once you get it home and up and running with music playing you'll know why they are about $150 bucks. There worth every cent too in my opinion. The sound is wickedly crazy. Its very loud, puts out deep bass, and doesn't muffle even when you have it cranked (bass level, not speaker level) all the way up. I am glad I bought these for my iMac. The speakers were plenty loud that were built in, but when listening to music and watching dvd's or something you want the full affect. If you are looking for replacement speakers so you can get rid of your old stock speakers then this is a must buy. It may seem a bit expensive if your on a budget like a lot are, but once you buy it you'll be glad you did.
What's great about it: Easy Set Up, Loudness, Quality of Sound, Bass Level Output and Depth (Very Deep Bass)
What's not so great: Nothing I can think of...

I've owned these speakers for 8 years when they were priced at $250.00. I purchased them at a local Best Buy to complement an HP Pavilion (which is LONG gone) computer. These speakers have been connected to 3 different computers since their original purchase date. I've never had a single problem with these speakers from day one and they're still going strong. The sound quality is excellent at all levels of the sound spectrum and for all musical genres. Installation is simple and straightforward and took less than 5 minutes. My only real complaint is the location of the switch to shut off the power to the speakers. It's located on the back of the subwoofer and is a hassle if you desire turning off the speakers. I'm a bit disappointed the folks at Klipsch didn't give more thought to the placement of the power switch. It would've been much more convenient and logical to place the switch on one of the speakers instead of the subwoofer. However, that's a minor issue when you consider the superlative quality and clarity of sound with these speakers. Bottom line: buy these speakers and enjoy years of worry-free operation.
What's great about it: Sound, clarity, power, price, and dependability.
What's not so great: Location of power switch.

Best 2.1 Speakers on the Planet!!!

I just bought these speakers about 3 weeks ago. Unfortunately, the first set blew out in about 2 days-- but Best Buy stood by their product by giving me a new set without any problem at all..
These speakers sound awesome. They have PLENTY of deep bass-- mine are set somewhere around 20% (there's a mark on the dial, and from what I can tell, that's the recommended setting)-- believe me, you won't need to go much higher than that even when playing action movies or video games with a lot of gun fire and explosions in them.
I love the Klipsch brand name. It represents great speaker engineering that has been around several decades now.
I've heard the Bose® - Companion® 3 Series II Multimedia Speaker System (3-Piece) on display while shopping for these Klipsch & although those speakers sound quite good, too-- I couldn't justify the additional $100 for those speakers.
Now, I'm not bashing Bose-- in fact, I own & enjoy my Bose® - 3•2•1® GS Series III DVD Home Entertainment System quite a bit-- but, as many others have already stated-- Bose are always more expensive and real audiophiles almost always choose something else instead of Bose in the long run.
I especially like the large sound that comes from these small speakers. They look great-- especially sitting next to my laptop where the gold /orange & black logo matches my orange lights and orange / black carbon laptop case-- very sexy, indeed!!!
The one thing that is odd is that Klipsch decided to forgo the power switch on their newest model. I've asked Klipsch if it was O.K. to leave them on all the time & they said that it was their intention to do so as these speakers use so little power by keeping them on all the time.
I've had them on ever since & haven't been worried about them at all.
I suppose that people can use a power strip that has an On/ Off switch on it-- but that's probably just a matter of preference.
Oh, I almost forgot-- I was pleasantly surprised when these speakers went on sale this week. The good folks over at Best Buy were more than willing to give me a refund of the difference between the regular price & the sale price.
That made my buying decision all that much sweeter!!!
Buy these speakers. Take good care of them. Enjoy them for many years. It's going to be a very looooong time before something comes out that sound any better than these do for what you pay for them.
What's great about it: Klipsch Brand Name, Superior Sound & Sexy Styling
What's not so great: Kind of Expensive & Lack of Power Switch

For the price, the Klipsch Promedia 2.1 system is awesome! I upgraded from a Logitech x-540 system and wow! There was indeed a big upgrade in sound quality. I heard things in these new speakers I couldn't with the x-540. The mids and lows are great on the Promedias, the highs are pretty good too. The sub is tight and way more detailed compared to logitech sub.
What's great about it: Sound quality
