I really enjoyed this movie. It's one of those where you are either going to like it or your not...there is very few people on the fence because there is a ton of plot set up and dialogue. If you are like me and enjoyed it I recommend finding the Steelbook copy of the directors cut of possible.

Not being familiar with the Watchmen characters, they were not as interesting as the Marvel characters like in Captain America. The cast was not as good although there was some effort on their part, but still the story was not as riveting as Marvels The First Avengers or The Winter Soldier. It may be partly that there was no explanation of where the characters were from or how they came about to obtain the special powers that each had. Have to take that as face value, and accept them as they were.

I don't know the future of steelbook collectiblities but the buy price on the Watchmen was low enough I figured I'd take a stab. I liked the packaging. And I was originally going to use the free ticket to Superman Batman, but didn't so left it sealed.
I have a regular copy of Watchmen with a PS3 game inside. The movie is a good reflection of the comic and definitely is not your average Spidey or Bat film. But if you want a fun ADULT ride hop on board I hope you'll enjoy it as much as I did. And if you do then by all means pick up the original graphic novel.
