I've read other reviews comparing it to Oblivion, the only thing that makes it similar is that it's an RPG. When i first began to play i thought it might be a good game becasue of the options on building you character and class ect... after that my hope for a new open world OBLIVION type game came crashing down. after you get through the LONG drawn out begining! you finally get to a ponit in the game where you are sent out into the "wilds" i was thinking finally i can roam and do what i like .. nope! This might be petty but you can't even get into the water no free roaming (or atleast nothing like OB/Fallout. More like FABLE you can roam to the sides of the trail but can't walk over the pebble on the side of the road.. Collecting items from the dead bodies couldn't be more annoying and just plainly slows down the game! after you kill a bunch of bad guys you have to back track to recover items off them and to make it worse a window opens up to select each item you want. I will give this game another chance this weekend just to see if maybe it gets better, but so far it feels like a really, really bad version of Oblivion and that's an insult to Oblivion.
What's great about it: Cool that you have a party similiar to Mass Effect.
What's not so great: Boring fighting gameplay, NOT an open world, No jump! can't roam freely. Graphics.

I watched a few trailers on this game and it looked really cool so my wife got it for me for Christmas. I played about 4 hrs. and just couldn't get into this game. The story is to long, slow, and boring. Not much action and the graphics aren't that great. I was expecting something like Dark Siders which I am exchanging this game for. Needless to say I was very disappointed.
What's great about it: the trailers
What's not so great: story is to long, and not much action

Great graphics and storyline. Seems to have stumped the player it was bought for for the time being. But I'm sure he'll figure it out and move through the game to its finale.

Combat is boring and pointless, no sprint, you die easily, your spells and powers are have hardly any effect on you enemy. I got conned into this awful $60 game because EA has great marketing.
DO NOT GET. EVEN IF YOUR LIFE DEPENDS ON IT.
What's great about it: Work with a group
What's not so great: Everything Else, mainly the combat!

I dont know if anyone else had this problem but mine froze alot and this isnt a true RPG game you cant really go anywhere and the game focuses to much on party tactics rather than single character abilities you cant go crazy like in other rpg games and go on a killing rampage in my opinion if you like this game youd like oblivion way better

Baldur's Gate. Baldur's Gate II. Planescape Torment. Mass Effect. Bioware's best games.
The days of awesome rpg gaming seem now to be FAR behind for Bioware.
Where does one start on what went wrong with Dragon Age Origins? The dialogue is only a single grade above 2nd. The "deep, meaningful" story-telling is just mindless shock value. All the characters (though especially Sten and Zevran) consistently irritated this player. I am not sure about other gamers but the radial menu constantly caused the game to freeze. The side quests are about as interesting as watching sponge migrations. Missions in the main storyline have so much "filler material" in them that it often becomes forgettable what the mission was for in the first place! The game appears to have too many unfortunate similarities with Neverwinter Nights (graphics, menu setup, story "progression," etc).
It took 5 or so years for Bioware to produce this...game?
What's great about it: Results from search still pending...
What's not so great: Anorexic and overlong story, screen freezing, annoying characters, boring side missions, etc.

In short: Don't buy this game it might be the worst game of 2009
In long: First thing I noticed about this game from the beginning is the complete lack of any high def textures. All the textures in this game are muddled and lack any quality. Knights of the Old Republic back on the original Xbox had a much higher quality to its presentation than the opening create a character did on Dragon Age.
I played about 4 hours of this game hoping for it to get better but the combat is slow and borderline boring and the graphics are so shoddy and poor the Wii would have no problem running this.
The game has frame shutters....from what?!
I will not go into it for long but please rent this if you are at all interested in the game but do not buy it. Save your money for the next three great titles coming out.
What's great about it: Marketing, they found some way to market this like it had the potential to be great and tricked me out of $60 of my cash
What's not so great: Graphics, gameplay, voice overs, lip syncing, no online play, had to download game content on day one!
