My sisters and I bought the RX for our father as a gift, it does an amazing job making soup and blending smoothies!

While it does a good job blending, it it gets hot, making the smoothies warm. Also, one cycle is not always enough. Another disappointment is you can't do more than 3cycles without waiting 30 minutes, or it could overheat. I haven't tried the soups yet.

I bought this to replace my old bullet blender that had finally died after eight years. This is much more durable with actual metal on metal contact for the blades in lieu of the plastic which had a tendency to crack over time. Also, the power button is an added plus where my old version lacked such a feature and probably precipitated a shorter life span.
