This is a lovely album of familiar songs. The orchestral accompaniment is superb. Harry has a beautiful voice and he has kept the integrity of the original song and singer. I have thoroughly enjoyed the album and so has my three-year-old son. We just wish it had a few more songs on it!
What's great about it: Familiar songs redone beautifully.

I am a longtime fan of Harry Connick Jr., and was eager to hear this new CD. Some of the songs-'All the Way', Mona Lisa','Who Can I Turn To'-remind me of Sinatra and his days with the Nelson Riddle Orchestra. A lush, beautiful background for a beautiful voice.. I loved these! But I was disappointed in a few selections.. In "Your Song' I felt as those Mr. Connick's voice was being stretched a little too far.. I don't think he was made for this genre.. All in all, I did enjoy this album very much but would prefer Mr. Connick to stick to what he does best.. Romantic classics, or great jazz......

These are ALL the songs I love, and Harry puts a dreamy twist on them. One of my favorites is where the Trumpet kicks in on the song “I Can’t Help falling In Love WithYou”. Oh my. This CD just makes me feel like “Marsha Brady” cause all I can think of is “DREAMY”. I feel like I could rise up to the skies and dance on the clouds. I have heard and listen to MANY Harry Connick Jr. songs but this by far is his BEST work EVER! Harry gets you relaxed after a hard day of work, all you need to go along with this CD is a Bubble Bath and some Bubbly! I can just dance along, this is the type of music that just fills your soul and travels in your blood all the way to your heart. It is JUST THAT GOOD !!!!
What's great about it: the songs, they are a great selection

Harry Connick Jr. is as good of an actor as he is a singer. Very enjoying and relaxing music, i feel like i'm at a country house drinking tea and warming up by the fire.
What's great about it: the music, the songs, his voice

My favorite song on this album is Close To You. The rest of the songs I think sound better when they're sang by the originals. The only thing to describe this album is soothing. If you're into Frank Sinatra you should check this album out. It is good, but after awhile it sounds as if the songs are all the same since his voice doesn't seem to change from song to song.
What's great about it: Great if you like Frank Sinatra.
What's not so great: Songs start to sound the same after awhile.

HCJ fans will probably not jump at the chance to recommend this newest offering of classic crooner songs. It is not that Harry doesn't sound as smooth and charming as ever, because he does. His voice is probbly the greatest asset on this CD. It is not that the songs aren't great, because they are all popular classic ballads that are instantly recognizable, or at least should be. It is just this CD is such a departure from Harry's usual jazz based fare. These arrangments tend to make the songs so palatable to everyone that they end up being a little bland. The arrangments tend to be a little heavy on the easy listening side, and a little light on the jazz and complexity that make Harry stand out so much. Songs like Billy Joel's "Just the Way You Are" lack some true soul that Harry could add with the right arrangment. This CD is not without merit. It is the perfect background music for cocktail parties, long bubble baths and anytime you really need to unwind. It just isn't the CD you would reach for if you just want to enjoy some great jazz.
