and saves plenty on phone bills, has the occasional hiccup but well worth the onetime investment. My bill is just under $4.00 monthly for NY taxes, the local, regional and LD calls are absolutely free!!

Financial guy, Clark Howard (MSN) uses it and likes it. Dumped AT&T phone service and never looked back. Saves tons. Fax works, Alarm works, Port done. Not paying for its premium service, just device and no negatives yet. No monthly phone bills, just taxes ($3.47 per month). What a difference. We use Magic Jack as back up.
What's great about it: Being able to dump AT&T excessive fees for phone service.
What's not so great: Wished we knew about it years ago.

I just wonder why I didn't get this sooner, the Ooma Telo is a top of the line product, it allows you to have free phone service and make free calls in the US even if you take the device overseas, you just pay a small tax monthly fee (Required by the government not Ooma) Of course if you want all the bells and whistles then you need to get their Premium service that is $9.99 a month, still A LOT LOT less money than what you would be paying to your local phone company for A LOT less features, Ooma works with any corded or cordless phone; easy installation and no computer is required, With Ooma Premier, you'll have access to several first-class voicemail options. You'll be able to enjoy the ultimate convenience of having your voicemails forwarded to your e-mail address, allowing you to check your phone messages while at work.
Also when you sign up you have the option to pick a secondary phone number, you are free to chose what area code you want for your phone, let's say you have friends or family in another stay who can't afford long distance, then you pick a number from their area and presto they can call you at that local number for them.
Ooma also has Google Voice integration, meaning you may send and receive calls using your Google Voice number and Caller ID, even retrieve your Google Voice Mail from the Telo main unit or the Telo handset, the integration works like a charm.
Ooma has all the features you could ever dream of having from your phone service and then some, the Telo device has a sleek design loaded features, I simply love it all.
What's great about it: Quality, Design, Features, Sound
What's not so great: Nothing so far.
I would recommend this to a friend!

I have been using OOMA for a couple of years and never had any difficulty. Moved 4 times to 3 different states with no problems. Complaints about poor call quality most likely stem from a poor Internet Service Provider and would be the same with most any VOIP service. I have recommended and installed this service for several friends and the only problem experienced was remedied with an adjustment to his cheap Verizon DSL modem. Call quality has always been outstanding and the Premier plan has more features than I will ever use. The bluetooth connection to my iPhone is awesome.
What's great about it: No cost beyond purchase of the unit unless you need Premier. Great call quality. Bluetooth connect to iPhone and App.
What's not so great: Automatic re-route to alternate phone in case of ISP outage doesn't always seem to work.

I bought this product to lower my phone bill and still have a home phone to go with my cell phone. It's working fine so far. No one has really noticed a difference in call quality.Only one releative said the voice sounded louder.True test will be when porting my land line is complete sometime this week. So far it's been working fine.
What's great about it: easy setup .just a few steps online and plug it in.
What's not so great: transporting your number takes a while

This is a fantastic product for us since we have great internet service and 1950's landline service in our rural area. This may not make sense for everyone, though it is just the ticket for us. We are able to use our new all in one fax machine with no problem attached to this Ooma device.
What's great about it: very easy set up, seamless
What's not so great: existing number port fee a little steep

I was skeptical at first, but my doubts have been erased. Call quality is crystal clear, price is virtually non-existent ($3 in my area for fees and local tax). Why in the world would anyone fork over $50 a month to Verizon just for a landline phone when you can pay $150 once and then virtually nothing a month for the same or arguably better quality home phone service? No brainer...cut the cord and stop feeding the pig.
