This device is awesome. Bought Nov. 2009 and received the Premier for 3 months free. Once you have it, you'll not want to get rid of it. For ~$10 per month you get a ton of features and since the time I purchase it, they are coming out with new add ons. They now have a bluetooth adapter to connect your cell phone so that it rings throughout your home. I'm looking forward to getting that. All in all, the online features are awesome and we love the call forwarding and voicemail alerts to email or text message. I do not have the telo handset so I cannot comment on that. Call clarity is excellent. Only bad thing that I noticed is the power cord is loose and seems to come out pretty easy on the base. To remedy the problem, I've just used a twist tie and tied the power, phone distribution, and ethernet cord together - no problems since. Going on nearly a year and I'm well past my break even point if I would have kept my home phone service through a traditional carrier. We have an 8 mb high speed internet plan and that seems to be working great with the Ooma.
What's great about it: Saves money in about 6 months or sooner if you just get basic service.

Just be patient setting it up. I used to pay about $90 a month for phone and internet thru verizon. When the swtiched me to Frontier, I was ready for a change. Bought this at Best Buy for $200. Got cable internet access for $35 a month and now I pocket $55 a month! If you have DSL, I recommend switching to cable. Makes sending dial tone to the whole house easier. We have had it for 2 months now and it works just as advertised. We had a little bit of a delay when I first set it up. I called their support line and their took care of it. I have no regrets and only good things to say about this product.
What's great about it: Free calls, save $55 a month in phone bill.

This system is great. I have had mine about a year and have nothing but good to say about it. I would recommend 6.0 wireless phone set of any brand. I currently have V-Tech phones from Costco and they work great. The reason I say use wireless is because I did get a slight humming noise from my jack. The wireless phones eliminated that. Kinda confusing setup, but once that gets figured out, everything works great. Between the phones I bought and the money I paid for the system, I still made it up in less than a year of not paying a landline bill. I have ATT and have no problems with sound or quality. Very happy with the product.
What's great about it: Freedom of not having a landline phone bill
What's not so great: Could come with wireless phones

I've been an IP phone user for awhile but love how much cheaper this is per month than my previous carrier. Set up was pretty easy, it took me longer because I kept my old phone number but I've had it running for several months now & no complaints. The online web tools are great!
What's great about it: Love how low my monthly bill is
What's not so great: if internet goes down, no phone

I had an annual $377 (about $31 per month) bill coming due from another major competitor. Instead, I purchased the "Ooma" and am now paying $3.73 per month for their basic service. (All you really need) You can opt for an addition $9.99 per month for premium services which would still be over $20 less that their other major competitor. So far it has performed as advertised.
What's great about it: Quality, Simplicity and Features
What's not so great: I'll let you know if I find something

I was tired of paying out $50 a month to the local cable company for VOIP service (that I hardly ever used anyway - in my second home). My neighbor told me about the Ooma Telo, so I thought I'd give it a try. The payback would be less than 3 months worth of service if it didn't work so well. Now I am sorry I didn't get the Telo sooner! Since this is used at my second home, I don't subscribe to a lot of the extra services that are available, so I can't comment on them, but for a basic phone it works very well. Just like any POTS line or VOIP service at a fraction of the cost.

We love the Ooma Telo VoIP because, with an initial cost for the system, we get to say good bye to the phone company AND the phone bills. It was easy to setup but you do need the internet. We are using our existing phone, connected to the Ooma hub, instead of purchasing additional handsets. The only disadvantage is that we now only have one working phone right now. When it warms up, I plan to wire run a phone line to connect the hub back to my service connection point - which will connect all the phone jacks in the house to the Ooma hub.
