Not Ready for Prime Time

Do yourself a favor and read all the reviews of this product and understand no matter what everyone else writes you are NOT them. The experience with this phone, when the phone works, will be what they say it is. When it does not work you will hear REPEATEDLY, "third party". Ooma will take no responsibility since it is your Third Party Internet provider. The Internet Provider will not take any responsibility since it is a Third Party Ooma phone. If you Internet provider is a phone company, again it is not their responsibility as the Ooma phone is not provided by them. The Ooma phone would not take calls from my Verizon cellphone. There was a recording that the Ooma phone number given to me was not in service. Understand the Ooma phone worked from all other land lines and cell phones but not mine. My cellphone is six years old and has made tens of thousands of calls and has never had this happen. Calls to Ooma Customer Service produced no results along with Verizon and my ISP. This is not a device that you can depend on. Dropped calls, echoing, low volume, noisy connections, and on and on. Yes it works but not where reliability is important. NEVER for a business. Never where call connection and quality is an issue. Call grandma, your kids, grandchildren, aunt Marge and the like. You may love it. You can always call back. Don't call for a job interview or pay bills and the like. The connection may not be clear and what you say may not what someone hears. Its July 2011 and this product needs more support and Ooma to be the ISP and learn to listen to customers and take an integrated approach to problem solving.
What's great about it: Informal long distance calling
What's not so great: Reliability, noise, dropped calls, no integrated solutions available
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I've never had a better IP phone in my life and it's completely free after buying the box. I had 8x8 for 3 years and Lingo for 2. Both cost me $360 a year or more and the service was terrible, with call centers in India. I bought this box for less than the cost of a year's service. I was hesitant, but after a year, I'm delighted. It's as easy as visiting the website, enabling your box, and plugging it in, easy as 1,2,3. Quick and I've NEVER had to speak with a representative. Even the device is far more innovative and aesthetically pleasing than those provided by the likes of Lingo adn 8x8.
You'll automatically get a trial of the ooma premier service which is incredible and if you choose to buy it, it costs less than any other provider. There is no payment method connected at sign up though. It simply times out after a month or two. You'll get an email telling you your trial is about to expire, inviting you to subscribe. I personally loved the options, but opted to remain free. The service doesn't degrade as a result. Best quality I've ever had.
What's great about it: Pay once and never again. Clear, easy to set up, reliable, better than pay services
What's not so great: nothing so far after one year...
I would recommend this to a friend!

I have went from Ma Bell to Vonage to Ooma. Easy to setup and use, linked in Google Voice with very little effort. Would recommend to anyone with a good internet connection.
What's great about it: Cost
What's not so great: Need a good high speed internet connection

The ooma telo was very easy to install. Went online activated the product code on ooma.com , then plugged ooma into wireless router and phone into ooma had it going in 5 min. We have it hooked up to four phones(one base three jacks), no need to leave computer on was a plus. Also love the no long distance charges in the U.S. and that it will pay for itself within a few months. Very happy with phone quality as good as land line. It was great to cancel our land line phone company. Would highly recommend this product!
What's great about it: Easy to install, great sound quality
What's not so great: touch pads seems a little finicky
I would recommend this to a friend!

After several years of giving away money for home phone service, I decided to try out Ooma. It was recommended by a coworker but I was hesitant to try it. It was extremely easy to setup and I was up and running in less than 5 minutes. My only gripe is the extra cost involved in porting over your old number. Other than that, I'm happy.
What's great about it: Design, ease of setup, and quality
What's not so great: Extra cost to port number over

Ooma is the best decision I have ever made. I use Comcast internet and Ooma works flawless. I do long conference calls all the time and Ooma is perfect quality the entire call. I had Net Talk Duo before and Ooma is light years superior. Best phone I have ever had including old traditional land line service.
