Best free phone sevice

I'm glad I decided to buy after reading reviews, cut cable phone off and this will be all free after 5 months.Went online to setup Ooma account,I picked a new phone number, connected cat.5 cable that came with it to my router,connected cordless phone, powered up Ooma box let it update for about 10-15 mins., then all the blue lights came on, made a phone call with no problem and its as clear as cable. Three weeks running without a problem. Love the blues lights lol.
What's great about it: Very easy to set up and got it on sale.
What's not so great: no problems so far
I would recommend this to a friend!

Excellent overall VOIP

The installation was simple. The VOIP quality is excellent as good as good as a standard line. No static, no lag even when other computers are online such as game playing. My calls to land lines or cellular phones have all been excellent. The inexpensive premium service is a very nice add on feature. I contacted support to test them out and I had a very good experience with them. Its a great way to save money without having to sacrifice quality. The unit is well designed and attractive.
What's great about it: Easy set up, good price, good service.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Sound quality is good. Most important feature for me is that it works with my self-installed SkyLink AD-4335 home alarm system to dial my cell phone if alarm is triggered. That was my concern before i got it but now I can say that it works with my home alarm. So this way you can save not only on your phone bill but also on your security monitoring bill which in my case are 0.00 plus tax at the moment :)
What's great about it: Works with same quality as other VOIP phone services like Verizon, ATT, Charter
I would recommend this to a friend!

Ooma really works like it advertises. You certainly can eliminate your local phone company. Pay attention to the instructions and you can be on line in no time.
In order for Ooma to perform you must have your modem on all the time.
What's great about it: No more local phone billing
What's not so great: Need to leave your modem on all the time in order to use the phone
I would recommend this to a friend!

After trying several VOIP phone systems including Magic Jack it appears I've finally found a keeper.
What's great about it: almost free phone service, great voice quality, doesn't need my PC left on
What's not so great: haven't found anything yet

I installed my OOMA with ease. It took about 10 minutes! Porting your curirent phone number took about 10 days. Once it ported kissed my vonage bill good bye!!! At about $34/mo Savings, This system will pay for itself in 6 months! Now that's a quick return on investment. Annual savings will be $408 per year!!! Quality is just as good or better than vonage service and so easy to use!
What's great about it: Set it up in 10 minutes, transfer phone number and kiss your monthly service charges good bye. Pays for itself in 6mo.
What's not so great: Nothing!!!
I would recommend this to a friend!

Very Good Service

I have had Vonage for almost 2 years and their service is nowhere near as good as Ooma. The set up was easy and took less than 30 minutes. The calls are very clear and don't hang up and although the service is not 100% free (you still must pay local taxes, 911 surcharge, and other federal taxes) it is still a much better value than other services.
What's great about it: Easy to set up, voice quality is good, pays for itself in less than a year
What's not so great: Still have to pay local taxes
I would recommend this to a friend!
