I hooked it up in 10 minutes [as it took me 8 to read the directions] and it worked great right out of the box, and I mean that literally.
I wired my whole house [4 phones ] and all work perfectly.
Now I tell all of my friends - best buy [pun intended] really.
What's great about it: They advertise better voice quality than AT+T, and I agree.
What's not so great: Haven't found that yet.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Frustrated with the cost for a home phone with Comcast and CenturyLink I finally found a VOIP system that makes sense. Easy to set up, great voice quality. Only negative is the cost to port your old phone number, but in hindsight I don't have any telemarketers calls anymore!

I put off installing this phone for 2 weeks because I assumed it would take 2-3 hours. I had it set up and made a test call in about 20 minutes. The calls are clear the phone has just as good a call quality as the xfinity VoIP it replaced.

This is a superior product. It is truely a cost saving deal. We have cable service and were wondering how long we were going to suffer their price hikes. We now pay $34.90 a year for phone instead or $50+ a month and were able to port our phone number. We had a few problems with the quality of our calls at first, however we have worked out the bugs. It is easy to use, easy to set up and operate. Had the service up and running in about 1 hour! Don't let the initial cost deter you! You only pay for the 911 taxes in your area monthly or annually after you purchase and install! IT IS FOR REAL!!!!!!
What's great about it: Monthly/Annual cost to use!
What's not so great: Initial purchase price is scary!
I would recommend this to a friend!

Normally I would not rate a product so poorly but when my OOMA failed to work after a little over a year, OOMA said that they were sorry but the warranty had expired. How do you save money on a product that fails after a little over a year. And not to mention the fact that not having a home phone is a huge annoyance. I must admit that while I had the service it was pretty good but had i known that their devices were such garbage I would have never switched to them. You might buy an OOMA box and have it last for a very long time, or it may break after a year like mine. I paid $200 for the box and $50 to port my number, a complete waste of money.
What's great about it: Service was good whule it lasted
What's not so great: Horrible product life
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Purchased the Ooma Telo and ported my home phone number. Setup was simple, sound quality with high speed cable is perfect with no phone bill to ever have to pay. Initial startup cost plus port charge will be paid for in less than a half of year of use. Love the ability to view and manage voice mail remotely from their website and the ability to have voice mails emailed directly to me. I highly recommend this device.
What's great about it: No monthly expensive phone bill.
What's not so great: Base has to sit next to computer which is upstairs, so I can't see blinking voice mail light without going upstairs.
I would recommend this to a friend!
