Great Appliance!!!

We just bought this product but we love it. The surface shows no fingerprints. The inside has so much room! We love the filtered water that accessible through the door.

This was a gift! I would have not personally purchased this fridge because of the amount of space wasted with the ice machine and the lighting.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Reliable and sturdy

We have used this fridge for nearly a year now. It has worked great. We like the water dispenser, and the ice maker is quite fast but takes a bit to dispense. The crushed ice isn't worth anything because it just gets everywhere, so we don't use it. The LED lighting is nice. The door shelves are large and very useful. When purchased the fridge showed a pop can holder online and in the store model, but it didn't come with it. We went back to the store, and they gave us the one in the model. The plastic shelving does seem to scratch easily unlike good old glass shelves that keep looking great for much longer. The drawers are nice, and it's great that both have climate control. The smaller snack drawer is a little stiff pulling in and out. The stainless still is nice looking but with kids does look dirty quickly. We did have to warranty this item and get a new replacement because of an 18 inch crack in the freezer that ran along the side wall. It didn't seem to affect the performance but it wasn't worth the risk of the crack getting larger and it was still within warranty. I wouldn't let this be a deterrent to buying this fridge. GE was awesome with the warranty.

Works fine but I find the side-by-side less useful

We have always had the traditional refrigerator with a full width refrigerator and a freezer on the top. We decided to try the side-by-side (an expensive trial for us). I find the side-by-side very restrictive and less useful because of the narrow compartments; thus, even through there is more cubic footage, it is difficult to get as much in and more difficult to get items from the back. The water and ice dispensers, filter and lighting are great, but they take space for food storage. We were going to get the refrigerator with the freezer at the bottom, but people said that the freezer drawer was difficult to get stuff from the bottom of the drawer. If I were to choose again, I would go back to the refrigerator with the freezer at the top.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I have only had it a few days, but if it works as good as the last GE refrigerator I had I will be very happy! The one I just replaced was a 22 year old GE Profile.
