I wish the inside was designed differently

I love the look of this fridge, and there are several things that I like. The shelves are sturdy and connect to the fridge all along the sides instead of just at the back. The fridge looks great in our kitchen. However there really isn't much storage space inside due to the design. The light panel on the bottom shelf takes up 1/4 of the shelf, as well as the water filter on the top shelf. Same problem with the light panel in the freezer. These places you just can't slide items all the way to the back. The bottom drawer in the fridge and the freezer door baskets are all really small. They have a chunky sturdy design, but that takes away from storage space. I think I would exchange this fridge for a different design if I could.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I bought this refrigerator because I had space constraints on overall size but was very disappointed with interior design

I purchased this refrigerator with 3 other GE stainless steel appliances for a full kitchen remodel 6 months ago. Mind you....my previous refrigerator was a GE and it was 30 years old.....my reason for sticking with GE appliances.....long time reliability. Hopefully I will get more than half that. As the old saying goes...."they just don't make things like they used to". I also have a side by side GE refrigerator that I purchased for my remodeled basement wet bar 12 years ago. I actually wish the design of my new appliance was like that one. My basement fridge is so quiet and my new one is soooo noisy. I can be in another room and hear the ice cubes dropping into the bin. The ice dispenser is somewhat slow to dispense and sometimes I will press crushed and cubed will come out. The LED light is very bright but way too big. Wish they would have made it half that size. I like the fact that the door does not shut itself and if you don't shut it after an acceptable amount of time the "shut door alarm" will sound. I feel there is a sufficient amount of space in both sides but for someone who does not have a second fridge may find space a problem for a family of 4. The problem with fingerprints is solved by keeping a microfiber cloth handy with a little water so it's damp and cleanup is easy. Overall, it is still a good product for the price.
