Love the look of the fridge but....

I was really excited to get this fridge delivered. I bought the whole set (dishwasher, microwave, and stove) at the same time. In the first 12 days the ice maker only produced one bucket of ice. We called GE and a service guy came and replace it. This seemed to help a little but we have to buy ice from the gas station quite often. Wish I would have done a little more research before I bought it because the ice maker is very important to us. Our last refrigerator put out a ton of ice.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Your model is designed to make approximately 4.5 pounds or 130 cubes per day. The bucket will hold approximately 8 pounds of ice. Noisy

Happy with the overall look and functionality of the refrigerator. The issue is that the compresser runs 80% of the time and makes a high pitched noise. The manual does state that this is normal, yet what is normal? My issue is that when I am in my bedroom across the house (1700 sq ft) with the door closed and the TV on I can hear the hummm from the refrigerator. This goes on about every hour for approx. 15 to 20 minutes. We are appy when our extremely noisy wine fridge comes on and drowns out the noise. We have a repair man coming out today to see if this can be fixed.

Disappointing

I bought this refrigerator and it had to be returned because the door did not seal properly and we had to get another one delivered which was a major inconvenience.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Poor ICEMAKER

While I am very happy with the refrigerator and freezer, the icemaker has been a huge disappointment. It will work fine for a week, then not at all. It doesn't fully eject the cubes, then doesn't complete the cycle and refill the tray. I will use approx 50 ice cubes a day, and this icemaker has only occasionally kept up with demand.

Bad choice

I bought this refrigerator in June and it has already had to be repaired twice. Same issue twice with the freezer not holding temp and all food thawing out. In addition there is not enough space in freezer or refrigerator. I clearly purchased a lemon and wish it could be returned.

Modern design, NOISY like a tractor.

Good design internally and externally, however when compressor comes on it is like a tractor, my previous 10 year old fridge made 1/10 the noise this one does.

We replaced old fridge only for color match to other appliances. But this brand new GE fridge has been extremely noisy with buzzing and vibration when condenser is running, plus it is impossible to remove ice cube bin as we were shown at the store. Both sides and door vibrate with annoying noise, IT IS NOT ITEMS INSIDE CAUSING THE VIBRATION NOISE!

Lots of room and great value

Owed for this refrigerator for 2-weeks now and so far we've been very pleased. Lots of room inside and storage bins are located logically and are easy to reach. Center drawer in refrigerator sticks and is extremely hard to slide open or closed. It appears this issue has been present for some years and GE has not addressed it. Other than this annoying "feature", we are quite happy.
I would recommend this to a friend!
