I shopped and compared all makes and models even though I didn't have a working refrigerator at home. Mine had completely died. I really love the black slate finish. I was worried about the single lever ice/water dispenser as my sister has a Whirlpool that spits ice out so fast it always lands on the floor. This one does not do that at all. It's really quite too! Yes, I can hear the motor purring, but no sounds of water refilling, etc. It cooled very quickly right after installation. I had ice in just a few hours. My experience with other refrigerators took at least 24 hours before it would make ice. Lots of shelves and ways to adjust them. There is LED lighting in the freezer and fridge. I really like the blue tinted LED light in the ice/water dispenser. A little night light for the kitchen. This produces half-moon shaped ice (as most do). Of course, it will give your crushed ice as well. Another plus is the 2 humidity controlled bins in the fridge - you can adjust the humidity which is important as to whether you are storing fruit or vegetables. The doors close nicely and quietly. I feel the finishes on GE's refrigerators seem to be the best over all competitors. Love it so far.

Non working ice maker ..

I like the appearance of the refrigerator .. However , every since we took it out of the box the ice maker doesn't work.. We had a tech come look at it and it was unplugged .. SInce then it still is NOT making ice we have to keep checking to make sure it is plugged in and it makes a small amount of ice and then stops .. Not at all pleased with this refrigerator ...
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I upgraded from a 20-year-old Refrigerator, so this unit was a HUGE step up. Works great. Looks fantastic. I got the "Black Slate" color with blends great with my new Quartz Countertops.

Have this new refrigerator for one month. I am satisfied with its quality/price value. I hope that this new one will not be like my last GE refrigerator, which the filtered drinking water pump leaked even thought the refrigerator itself lasts for more than 20 years of use.

Amazing Fridge

We just purchased our new fridge and had it installed and we completely love it. Great space, the shelving is adjustable and the amount of space is great. Plus we love that the ice in in the fridge can come out as well
