Very Unreliable

This refrigerator has been very unreliable. I bought it new from a major retailer a few years ago and the motherboard that controls the circulation fan has failed a second time causing spoilage of very expensive food in addition to the cost of repair.
I do not plan on buying a GE product again.

Overall poor rating, only lasted seven years. This appliance was nice in appearance and in storage space, however, the ice maker failed and freezer no longer maintaining correct temperature after five years, was told we needed a new compressor. The door handles rusted badly at the bottom causing the white paint to bubble and peal, (same as a prior GE), the door gaskets easily stained, impossible to keep clean and at year seven, the water dispenser failed. The cost of repair was so high, we decided enough is enough and ordered a new refrigerator and not a GE refrigerator!
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

A good buy that requires more purchasing

An accessible appliance for the price and aesthetically pleasing and easy to keep clean with attuned capacity and shelving options. However, be prepared to maintain an ongoing relationship with the maker in terms of purchasing plastic parts. Specifically, the ice spooling tool broke while managing a regular batch forward (during 100+ degree weather in AZ, it gets used regularly so there was no attempt to pull from a solidified block, for example). In another case, the pull from a vegetable drawer easily broke as well, requiring replacement.

Horrible refrigerator

Drawers are so sharp they take the skin off if you bump your hand I to them. Drawers handles cracked after little use. Led light in freezer stopped working . Ice maker is so noisy you can hear it over the tv.
