No way to remove faulty cartridges
on April 4, 2016

I have a bad cartridge and the printer won't let you remove them until it thinks the cartridge is empty. This is a terrible design flaw and ensures I will not buy another Canon ever again.

Not easy to use

The instructions are not intuitive. I cannot figure out how to change the printer cartridge and paper does not fit in tray one.

Lacks efficiency in an office setting
on April 26, 2016

I bought for this product for my home office and product has not met my expectations. It was a pain to set up, I had to google the wifi setup for this product because the wifi instructions were not clear in the manual. Next, the printer takes a long time, (longer than 5mn) to warm up before it executes an initial print or copy command. This is just not acceptable in an office setting where efficiency and productivity are essential. I just changed the black ink (I was unaware Yellow cartridge was out too) and product won't print until I change all deficient cartridges. Had to make a second trip to the store to get ink. Changed both cartridges and now product is doing its endless and noisy set up cycle before it prints out my one copy.
I am now looking for a different printer.

Great printer at a great price

I'm sorry to hear of the negative experiences others have had. I could not be happier with this printer. The output is great and it provides a ton of features, especially for the price. I replaced an HP PSC 1610 that gave me tons of grief for over a year before failing completely. During that time I blew a LOT of money on overpriced cartridges that didn't last long. Even the starter carts that came with my Canon MB2320 lasted quite a while. When the printer hasn't been in use, the first page printed can take a long time because I guess the printer agitates the ink tanks before printing. It complains whenever the power goes out and it hasn't been shut down properly, but no longterm issues result. So far, I've done everything using just the front panel controls, without downloading any of the software. (Fortunately, my newer Mac had built-in drivers and my Win 7 machine downloaded them from the net without making me install the giant download that older Macs require. My Snow Leopard Mac did NOT work with this machine and it would crash trying to run the 48MB installer .dmg, which is pretty ridiculously large for a driver that should only be maybe 10-20K. I was planning on retiring that machine anyway so never contacted Canon for a smaller driver-only package. Otherwise, this printer has been absolutely outstanding and I wish I had purchased it sooner!

Ink sucking disappointment of a printer!

Near constant cleaning cycles drain the new "Extended Life" tanks quickly. Now, after just over a year, it's throwing a B504 error, probably a death sentence for this printer. What causes this error? Low ink. What causes low ink? Cleaning cycles. Why does low ink kill the printer? Because that's the way it was designed. Sorry Canon, you really missed the mark, and lost this faithful customer, with this printer.

Garbage

Horrible. Slow. If you depend on this for business like they advertise it your business will fail (thankfully I do not use it for business) barely print anything and ink is out in no time. Additionally when your yellow ink runs out it wont print black and white either “to maintain print quality”. Designed to take your money nothing else.
Ps would not let me post my full review bc of profanity

Wasted money

My husband and I have had this for less than 2 years. It won't keep connected and is now becoming more difficult to reinstall. We've had Canon printers for years before buying this disappointment at an outrageous cost. Now we are looking at other printers.
SORRY CANON, YOU HAVE LOST OUR BUSINESS!!!!!!

TERRIBLE printer.

This printer is the worst printer I have had in a very long time. Envelopes are unprofessional looking with the ridiculously narrow print area. Ink cartridges can not be changed out until the printer thinks they are empty. Print quality ranges from average to poor, depending on the project. This one is just a fail by canon. I am sorry to have purchased it over HP. Canon used to have good products.
