Disappointed with Otterbox Commuter

The last Otterbox Commuter case we bought for our old iPhone 4 lasted many years! Sadly, not so for the 6S version... The current product does not seem to be built to the same standards of quality as the old ones. We take meticulous care of our phones, and after only 2 months (8 weeks!) of ownership, the outer shell cracked right across the opening for the A**** logo the very first time it was removed to clean the phone and case. Items like this truly only cost pennies to produce, so why not invest a penny or two more to make it built to last the life of the phone? The true quality of a product is proven when a warranty does not have to be relied upon. From what I can see in the reviews here and elsewhere, this product is not really worth the price and I suspect it is only designed to last 1 year at most. In the meantime, I expect that every time we remove the cover to polish things up (usually several times a year), I'll be stuck paying for shipping a replacement. I'll let you know over the next 10 remaining months of warranty... Not impressed.
