I cannot pull the two back and front apart. I have tried numerous times it seems like they're molded together. I cannot get my phone in there. There must be a trick to separating the box but it's not working for me

I left my phone on the hood of my car and drove away... three blocks later as I turned a corner my phone flew across the intersection! Someone found it and the police had it. The phone was perfect... but the otter box was scratched up. It saved my phone so I was happy to buy a new one! Love it!!
