I had a great Otter Box but when I updated my phone I got a similar style cover that cost less. It was bulky and broke apart when I dropped it. I’m back to a true Otterbox with my new phone and will not be fooled again!

I previously had an Otterbox Commuter Series for my iPhone 5S and SE and was pleased with it. It was slowly falling apart, but that is expected throughout the lifetime of two new phones (5S and SE). I did some research and decided to stick with it for my iPhone 6S and I'm still happy with it so far.

I had the Defender series for almost two years before getting a new case. I liked my old case because it protected my phone, but the rubber had stretched away from the hard shell, so I decided I needed a new one. Instead of getting the Defender series, I went with the Commuter series because my sisters and one of my friends like it. The Commuter series is great because it’s not as bulky, but since the hard shell is plastic and thinner, I’m more likely to drop my phone. I’ve already dropped my phone once, but this case did save it. I had to add a pop socket to prevent me dropping it more. Other than that, I like it.

I bought this Commuter shell to replace my first commuter shell that broke. The old one was over 4 years old and survived many drops. The old shell finally broke when I dropped the phone and it landed squarely on the corner. The shell broke. My phone didn’t. Why would I want something different? It works!

disappointed in Otterbox this time

I have the commuter series wallet for iphone6. at first it was impossible to even open the back. finally got it open but it was hurting trying to get it to slide. shouldn't be that difficult. Maybe this one is faulty. I usually have to leave the wallet slightly open. Then cpl days ago I decide to lock the wallet & I'm trying so hard to get it open, it flies open, falls down and voila now my phone has a corner injury & the case, the 2 pieces won't attach properly. frustrating because these things are expensive & since they're made to last the expense doesn't hurt so much, but if the case doesn't cooperate or doesn't fit right and the phone gets a hit, now I'm upset with the money I spent. I've had other otters for different phones and usually they do their job but this phone is my most expensive, most luxurious :) and I really need it to be safe.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

My husband is a man who loses his stuff quite often. This case has helped him keep his license, debit card and military id together in 1 spot and not lost somewhere. Thank you for making a case that goes with him in most situations :)

I purchased the Commuter series case and have used it on my phone for 9 months. It is sturdy but not bulky, looks great and makes it easier to hold onto the iPhone not to mention protecting it. The flexible inside part ("Wallet slipcover") is showing a little wear but is still very functional. The outer case/hard shell layer looks like new. When my daughter (17) needed a case, she wanted one like it.
