You need to hook up all five cables to what ever your connecting to, three are for the RGB picture [red green and blue] and two are for the left and right sound [white and the other red] if you get confuse look at the base of the cables where they split into five there should be two bands one should say audio and one should say video.I hop this help.
The cable is color coded to match the inputs on the back of your TV. There are 5 colors on the cable. 2 are joined, and then the other 3 are joined. In the group of 2 you have: Red = Audio channel right. White = Audio channel left. Those 2 colors have been used for many years and should not require explanation. The other 3 colors should match the inputs on the back of your set. So red cable plugs into red hole. Green cable plugs into green hole. Blue cable plugs into blue hole.
This reminds me of the scene in Raising Arizona where the guy asks for instructions on how to use Pampers. The clerk responds that they're self contained, and fairly self explanatory. I would think that matching cable colors to colored holes / connectors on your TV should be pretty self explanatory. That's why they began using colors on them.
If you plug in all 5 plugs, like i did, the colors will match up. Your tv inlet will have corresponding colors. I was curious if i could just plug 3 instead of 5 cables in and i was told that you can. I havent done it, but you would just plug the usual 3 in, white red yellow and should work fine. sorry its not a definate answer
the original wii cables, 3 are red, white, and yellow. Yours are re, blue, green and two others, red and white. How do you wire into a 50" Panasonic Plasma TV? My 1st attempt I got B&W only?
red, blue, and green (RGB) are component video connections. yellow is composite video. They are different and cannot be intermixed. make sure you are using the component video inputs on the back of your TV.
the original red and white cables are audio cables. same for the new cable.
I had the same problem when we bought a new tv. What we were told is that the original Wii cables are poor quality, Best Buy sold us $30 Will component cables and the Wii works perfect now. It's a waste of money but a must of you want to be able to use the Wii. Hope this helps!
I just bought a new set of cables for the Wii for the 2nd time... both sets I have there is sound and picture but the picture is black and white. I went to the wii settings and now I am not getting a picture at all!!! Please help I have not been able to use my Wii in 5 months!!!!
I am partially color blind and had some issues with the component hook-up. Make sure that the cables are plugged into the correct colors. I had a similar result to what is described when they were not pugged in correctly.
Really any RCA cable can be used to extend this. You'll just need to remember which one is red, blue, and green. Mark it before you configure it in the cabinet.
There certainly is! You can browse our selection of RCA couplers by simply entering "RCA coupler" in the search box at the top of any page on BestBuy.com.
Did you make sure to hook up the extra red and white??....for some reason i had the same problem with only hooking up the components until i also hooked up the other red and white cables then sound worked great
I would recommend checking all of your connections to ensure they are secure. Have you power-cycled your TV & restored it to factory defaults? If not, try that and hopefully that will remedy the issue.
Also, you may need to revert to your TV's user manual for additional troubleshooting tips &/or manufacturer for additional support.
Connected this cable matching the colors on the cable ends to the colors of the TV connection and have no audio. The original WII cables work better than this cable.
This component cable should function MUCH better than the cable included with the Wii, but without knowing how you tried to hook it up exactly I can’t say why the audio isn’t working. It could be an issue with your receiver or TV, depending on how you have it set up.
Have you tried hooking up other devices to the same component input on your Vizio? Are you sure that you have connected the proper cables to the proper color matched input?
