The water that is dispensed through the water dispenser on the LG - 20.5 Cu. Ft. Counter-Depth French Door Refrigerator - Stainless-Steel Model # LFX21976ST is definitely not at room temperature and comes out fresh and chilled and filtered...IFV

Does anyone know if the doors on this fridge open to zero-clearance, meaning they don't extend beyond the width of the case? We have a wall on our left side an the left door would only be able to open 90 degrees without rolling around the side of fridge

Too small of a distance from adjacent items may result in lowered freezing capability and increased electricity consumption charges. Allow at least 24 inches (61 cm) in front of the refrigerator to open the doors, and at least 2 inches (5.08 cm) between the back of the refrigerator and the wall. ^CP

how many inches is it from the rear of the refrigerator to the door hinges that stick up. my cabinet are 24 inches deep and 69 high

The top of the freezer drawer is 43" from the top of the refrigerator. It is 28" above the kitchen floor.

The specs say Defrost free - yes and then the Defrost Type-manual. Does this mean I have to defrost the freezer manually? It is kinda of confusing.

It simply means that, generally, you will not have to defrost (remove ice build up) the freezer. However, on the very slight chance that you do need to defrost the freezer, you have to manually remove the ice by scraping with a plastic scraper and/or unplug the machine and let the ice melt.

Both the refrigerator and freezer sections defrost automatically. However, clean both sections about once a month to prevent odors. ^CP

does the ice maker work seamlessly without spills? A friend had this model and experienced problems with it. Not sure if this was since corrected?

We have no issues with either the ice or water. You just have to hold the container directly under the hole... Which is easy because you should be pressing the switch with the container anyway.
