No, it only works in the purple MHL port. There is a HDMI version stick though.

No, it must be an MHL rated port. MHL ports include additional power that the stick needs to function on. The standard HDMI stick uses a separate power cord (source) for it to function. Make sure you have an MHL port on your TV prior to purchasing this one.

MHL streaming stick only work with MHL input, if u need the one for HDMI, Roku have another streaming stick for HDMI input

Do I need router for Roku stick ?

One of two TVs at home is not "smart..". Internet is provided by cable company.

Yes - these sticks are wireless...need a wi-fi router to feed them.

You would only need a router if your internet is not wireless.(Most cable company's are using wireless) If it's wireless all you need is your network username and password. From there you are on your way. Easy setup.

Be patient and wait for it to come available. I waited a couple weeks, but it was worth it. Just check the web site daily. I don't recommend that you use the non-MHL Roku if you want the conveniences that are available. Just wait.

Chrome Hdmi only mirrors to the TV from a device, Like Apple, Android or Computer. The Roku streams to the TV from the app without an additional device.

Why are the Insignia tv's saying Roku ready and include a link to this Roku streaming stick but the tv's don't have an MHL port (at least it doesn't show in the specs or description)???

I assume that some of the "ready" TV's may not have an MHL port, because not all ROKU devices have that kind of connection. If you want to ensure you have an Insignia TV that is MHL compatible, they have a list of the MHL compatible devices on both websites (Insignia and ROKU) from what I recall. I looked it up before I bought the TV, and the MHL stick works perfectly.

You simply learn to be patient and wait for Best Buy to restock the Roku stick. I actually waited two weeks before it was available for me to purchase. But it was worth the wait.
