One black cartridge and one color cartridge cost $30 both together. Wireless is very versatile, you can locate it anywhere without having to attach it to a computer. You can print from a phone or a tablet. The only con is that you require a wifi network to take advantage of the wireless capability, but, if you have that network anyway, no problem.
Ink jet requires liquid ink managed in a cartridge. It tends to smudge with water and requires a short period of drying before it stops running off. Laser is much more permanent, but mostly in black. Color laser printing is a lot more expensive.
