Hi, Jack! You can connect it to a stereo system using the audio output jacks although you may experience difficulty in navigating because the unit itself doesn't have a display panel. It needs to be connected to a TV to be able to display the menu screen and for easier navigation. ~Ralph

Yes ! You should get a full picture on your 50" TV. If you don't than check you TV remote and look for the Format button. You can modify your TV screen size . That should work.

It is small, it will probably fit in your hutch, I have it in a cheap tv stand that is tiny, if I were to guess, the player is only about 10 inches deep. Hope this helps.
