The LG - 1.6 Cu. Ft. Over-the-Range Microwave - Smooth Black, Model # LMV1683SB requires you drilling holes in both the wall and the upper cabinet. Depending on what type of venting you have, you will either use the upper cabinet template if it is roof-vented, the rear wall template if it's wall-vented or install a mounting plate if it's room-vented...^IFVby

$119. If you have an older LG, compare the top of both units. If the holes are in the same place, it will still fit. You may not need to take the wall support down either. Definitely have someone there to help lift it and put it in position though.9 years ago

The install cost for a standard install is $150.00, more if they run into stuff. I am not sure if that includes removing the old one. I removed mine and installed the new one. It takes two people who are of normal strength.by

Ductwork is not included with the LG 1.6 cu. ft. Non-Sensor Over the Range Microwave Oven, Model # LMV1683. If you need to vent it outside, you will need to purchase the ductwork if you do not have it. The microwave can be vented in one of three ways, Roof-Venting, Wall-Venting or Room-Venting. The microwave is shipped with its blower assembled for room-venting. If you want to wall-vent or roof-vent, you will need to adjust the blower. The instruction manual for the different types of installation is included with the unit...^IFVby

The Installation Manual for the LG - 1.6 Cu. Ft. Over-the-Range Microwave in Smooth Black, Model # LMV1683SB require that you drill holes in the wall and upper cabinet to secure the unit and for room venting you will need to also install the supplied mounting plate. The oven is shipped assembled for room venting. Supplied with the oven are a Damper/duct connector (for roof/wall venting), One power cord clamp and One dark-colored mounting screw (to hold the power cord), One power cord clamp bushing (for the cord hole in a metal upper cabinet), Four 1/4" x 2" lag screws (for wall stud holes), Three 1/4" x 3" toggle bolts (for drywall holes), Two 1/4" x 3" bolts (for securing to the upper cabinet), Two tapping screws (for attaching the damper duct connector), Three 1/4" x 3" bolts (for securing to the upper cabinet), One upper cabinet template, One rear wall template (1 piece mounting plate only)...^IFVby

I have to remove the glass dish and then remove the hard plastic insert that rotates the dish. Replace dish and heat your food.I can find no other way to disable turntable function.

I agree with you. The turntable function can not be turned off.Buy the more costly LG microwave (about $430) if you need
that function.

A:
Yes. Follow the instructions to take off the blower cover on the top, take out the two screws that hold the blower in place in the rear and rotate the blower so it is aiming up. Knock out the appropriate plates, mount the plate, put the two blower screws back in (in the rear) and replace the vent. There is an adapter piece that comes with the new units - this should help connect to the vent going to the outside.9 years ago

Yes, this unit can be outside vented from the top or therear of the case. You remove one of 2 covers if you
want to vent outside.
You must cut a 3"x10" hole in the wall (rear vent)
or cabinet (top vent) to vent this way. You can then
convert to a 3" or 4" round vent hose if desired.
The default vent is out the top front of unit into the
kitchen. No modification necessary.

The default venting is inside the kitchen. It will vent outside if youuse a duct adapter and exit out the top rear of the unit. You have to cut
an additional hole in bottom of your cabinet for that duct.

Yeah, it comes with the vent sheath to get through the cabinet. Also can be used on an internal wall so it just filters it a bit and blows air up towards the ceiling out the top of the microwave in front of the cabinet.by

The Magnetron is the electronic element that creates microwaves to heat food. Only that part is covered for 10 years. Any other repair parts or labor fees are paid by you.by
