I'm sorry to hear you're having an issue with the water and ice dispenser on your RF323. There are several factors that could effect the dispenser's operation. First, if the icemakers are producing ice and it's only the dispenser that isn't working, it's possible the control panel is locked, which also disables the dispenser, or the wiring harness and water connection under the left door hinge cover are not fully connected. Refer to page 8 of the user manual for instructions to disconnect and reconnect these items. To release the Child Lock, press the Ice Off button for at least 3 seconds. With the control panel unlocked, please also make sure that either water or an ice type is selected prior to pressing the lever.
If the icemaker is not producing ice, please check the following, as well:
- Is the supplied water pressure at the recommended 20-125 psi?
- Is the water valve turned on all the way and the water line free of bends or kinks that could obstruct the flow?
- Is the water filter cartridge installed correctly, with the lock indicator marks aligned? Try bleeding air from the lines by holding the water dispenser lever for an extended period of time until water flows, then dispense 5-6 gallons of water to bleed the air.
- Are the fridge and freezer set to the recommended 37°F and 0°F, respectively? If the temperatures are set too low, the water line could freeze; if the freezer is not cold enough, it can't make ice.
- Press the icemaker Test buttons (on the right side of the upper icemaker and the bottom of the lower icemaker) which should cause the trays to rotate then fill with water.
After checking all of the above, if the water still will not dispense, it is possible that your filter is clogged or partially clogged. Try removing the filter temporarily to see if the water will dispense. It may be necessary to press the lever for an extended period again to bleed air from the lines. If the water dispenses without a filter installed, you'll need to replace the cartridge with a new one.
