Yes. I installed the monitor on my Windows 7 laptop before upgrading to Windows 8 and the touch features worked.

Is this product good for digital sketches?

Is this product just a simple touch screen monitor? Or could it be used for digital sketches and act as a tablet (with a stylus pen).

Yes it works with windows 7, 8, & 8.1. I have tried it with all 3. I Bought the screen when I was updating for 7 to 8 and the 8.1 and tried it with all 3.

This monitor also has DVI and VGA inputs. You can use either one of these to connect to your desktop if you do not have HDMI on your desktop.

The touch screen has a cable that connects from your monitor to your usb plug in on your computer. Do you have it plugged in. Note this is not the video cable. You will have 2 connection wires plus your power cord.

Can the clear plastic strip on the bottom of the monitor be removed when it is used with a desk or wall mount. How is the strip removed?

I want to mount the monitor on a desk using a desk mount. The plastic strip simply gets in the way when used with a desk or a wall mount so I want to remove it. Thanks.

No it can not be removed. It is put on tight as if it was part of the screen it's self.

Yes, the back of it has a spot for 100x100 vesa mount. I have it attached to a monitor arm so I can place it closer to horizontal, suspended over my keyboard when I play touch games.

I have this monitor and another connected to both an xp and windows 8. I use it as the second monitor for windows xp with a mouse. I use as a touch screen with windows 8. I have not tried the touch screen with XP.
