Although the Tab 2 will not offer a dedicated traditional USB port, it will offer a proprietary port that will connect the the supplied USB connection cable, which supports USB 2.0.

Actually, although they may have different model numbers, they should both still offer all of the same specs and features. There should be no difference between them on these terms.

From the available information, this specific Tab 2 will not offer cellular connectivity and will only offer WiFi. That said, this device does not need to be unlocked and monthly plans or contracts are not required to operate this tablet.

Do refurbished Samsung tabs receive regular firmware updates? If I buy one, will I be able to upgrade to Jellybean when the firmware update is available?

A refurbished device is no different to a new in box device in that it will receive all of the same updates when they become available (the model numbers and OS versions will all be the same between these two types of products).
However, firmware and OS upgrade information is currently not available. Please keep checking back on Bestbuy.com and Samsung's website for updated information on this and all of our other products.

GPS navigation

I was reading one of the reviews for this device, and a reviewer claims to be able to use the tablet as a turn-by-turn GPS without a data plan. Is this tablet capable of that without being on a cellular/wi-fi network?

As long as Google Maps is updated through a WiFi connection, you can use the offline mode as a turn by turn option, there just would not be real time updates.

From the available information, the Galaxy Tab 2 7.0 will in fact offer GPS and it should work while in a moving vehicle, however, a WiFi connection must first be made in order for the GPS navigation apps to download maps to the tab itself.

This item is being sold as refurbished, is there a different form of packaging used in these products for resale? or does this item look as if it was purchased new out of the box?

It depends on what you get. There are some that look like new in box, there are some that don't have boxes, but still work great. Take the chance and if it doesn't work out, return it to the nearest bby.
