Hi! Yes it is compatible with any camcorder that records to mini dv. Note, (obviously) this will not magically turn your footage to HD, but you will get the best possible quality picture your camera can produce. I also find that they just don't make "other" tapes like they used to... They bend, the film breaks on rewind, etc. This tape is not like them. Consider this tape babying your old mini-dv camcorder! No it can not be used. Must use standard mini DV tape.

I used it in my non HD camcorder and it worked just fine. I did not notice any improvement in video quality. It was the only DV tape the Best Buy I was near had in stock at the time.
