Yes, I use this with a 4K TV and the picture is pretty good. But that said, I dont if this is HDMI 2.2 which is like a standard of the HDMI that latest and better. I would find out if this cable is 2.2 standard if I were you.
No this cable DOES NOT support 240hz at 4K . This cable is a 2.0 he I spec. A cable that is 2.1 will. Please ignore the other answers here. The max for 4K will be 60Hz.
It should work as you mentioned. Your laptop should automatically switch to the correct television resolution when the hdmi cable is connected. If your laptop does not automatically switch to your television then you will need to play around with the laptop display settings to get it to out put to your television.
Yes you are correct and I do the same thing myself.
If volume is still coming from your computer, go to your volume preferences and choose "External Speakers" which should also show some ID of the TV you are connected to.
The one I bought had hdmi 1.4 shown on the receipt .The cable itself says " High Speed Hdmi cable " . I asked the cashier to verify this would work with my 4K tv and he pulled up the Best Buy web page which DOES say this supports 4k but does NOT say what version ( 1.3 , 1.4 or 2.0 ) it is.
We are unable to provide the version of the HDMI cable. The cable supports resolutions up to 1080p resolution, 3D TV and most screen refresh rates: As well as 7.1-channel surround sound, Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD technologies, HEC (HDMI Ethernet Channel) and ARC (Audio Return Channel).
The same difference as between a USB and mini-stereo connector. Two different animals. Ethernet cables/plugs/jacks are one thing, HDMI another. This one has HDMI male connectors at both ends, to connect an HDMI output to input (and vice versa). Anything involving a typical ethernet input/connector - e.g., RJ45 - needs a cable/connector for ethernet connectors. This is for HDMI to HDMI.
Ethernet cords are way different than HDMI cords. You use to use Ethernet cords if you wanted to plug into the internet. Now a days most stuff goes wireless. Some computers still have an Ethernet connection in them. The HDMI is the way to go if you want to connect to a tv for video and audio. Most of the new laptop computers don't have an Ethernet port anymore, just usb and HDMI.
