the geek squad hooked up my system and it has worked perfectly since day 1 - I had a very old theater system - used original speakers - Boston Acoustic - purchased new Sony receiver and purchased wireless back speakers as well as a new plasma flat screen to replace a tv about 17 yrs old - geek squad techs are awesome!
It should work. Just remember to connect the transmitter unit that goes by TV/entertainment system to the acoustimass subwoofer module and not the back of the receiver. You need to connect it up to the acoustimass subwoofer module so that the correct crossover frequency is implemented as hooking it up to the receiver would send all the lower bass effects to the speakers which could damage the small double cube speakers.
I'm getting no sound from my rear speakers where they used to actually work just fine. The two units seem to be "lit up" appropriately but there is no rear sound. The manual mentions in the Troubleshooting section to check to see if they are 'muted' - "The Rx indicator light blinks when the device is muted." Where is the Rx indicator light?
Zonian... you might have a different Rocketfish unit. I don't have anything that shows up on a "screen" indicating what you're describing. My units are limited strictly to the various lights on the fronts of the boxes... you also might have a different receiver that actually displays input/status/feedback from your Rocketfish units. Thanks for offering assistance though!
With my setup, when muting is pressed, it shows in BOLD CAPS on the AMP select read out, or it shows a small speaker with a red slash, on the lower left side of my screen. I hope this helps and if not, I apologize. Best of luck!
My apologies for the last question for incorrectly specifying V30 jewel cube speakers as V20. Is this kit compatible with V30 Lifesytle Jewel cube speakers which are connected by a key connector (modeled in the wire itseld) on one end and RCA type connector that connects to the acoustimass module. If not are there any adapters which will make it compatible and are such adapters incudled in the kit.
As it sounds like the V30 use a specific proprietary end, you would need to contact Bose as they would be the most likely to have a adapter to allow that style of speaker to connect to bare wire.
I get great sound with the receiver, but when I switch over to CD the sound quality is poor. Is there something I'm missing? How can get better sound from CD's?
This kind of sounds like it's the CD channel on your receiver that's bad, not the Rocketfish speaker kit. If these sound good on movies and other things, then I'd have to point my finger to the receiver, since it uses different channels/relays/switches inside of itself when you switch to CD.
It's going to be a case of settings, as the Wireless unit is sounding good when running directly from Receiver signal. You may need to make adjustments to rear channels, and those adjustments would be a question for your receiver manufacturer.
I am trying to send music to Bluetooth Speakers outside of Bluetooth range. So my question is... Can I connect a Bluetooth Transmitter to the Rocketfish Receiver to send music to Bluetooth speakers? That way I can put the RocketFish Receiver about 40 feet away from the Home Theatre and the Bluetooth speakers another 10 ft away from the RocketFish/ Bluetooth Transmitter setup. (I can't run wires to where I want to put the Bluetooth speakers)
If your Bluetooth equipment use bare wire connections, with a + and - wire, then this unit can be included as part of the relay. If you are trying to actually boost the Bluetooth range with our equipment, that will not work.
If my HT receiver has no Zone 2 output, can I Connect in parallel the wired front speaks and a Rocket Fish Transmitter to be used for a Zone 2 set up in another room? ALso, I'm considering a Samsung home Theater and the speaker wires have propriotary connectors can these wires be spliced like any speaker wire?
It might work, but I'd question the sound quality. Also, you're further complicating things with those proprietary connections. You probably can modify them, but you may wind up destroying them in the process.
That may be a viable option, it will depend on the power ratings of the receiver you are using. In terms of the Samsung, you can splice the connections, but will need to verify that will not void your Samsung warranty.
