You can listen to music through the supplied 1.5mm cable jack, but it will not charge your iPhone.

Yes. You can by an extender cable (lightning cable in my case) and have no issues. I wont specify where because I assume it will be edited out of this post, But I bought one from a very popular site for about $20. I have read you leave the cable plugged into the dock all the time so you don't get the goofy message from the iPhone about an unrecognized device.

don't know if there's an adapter, I bought a different case, which I actually like better than the old one. It's got a cover to protect the front so hopefully I won't accidentally call people anymore.

If I am correct and the iphone 5c uses the smaller lightening plug charger, that will not work directly with this device on the charging station. Apple makes an adaptor, but it is spendy ($25 or $30). There may be less expensive adaptors. My son bought and uses the adaptor for his new ipad mini and it works great but it is a cable so it lays next to the speaker rather than sitting up on it. Keep in mind that you can still feed sound through it with a basic plug into the line in from the headphones out of the phone, but that bypasses the great functionality that comes with using the provided dock.

The remote is mostly for the radio functions here. You can move between preset channels; tune directly; change volume and move back and forth on your ipod tracks etc but there is no shuffle function. Hope that helps

Yes. It is actually designed to work with the older iphones and ipads as it has the older wide (30 pin, I believe) charging port. It is the newest apple devices that require an adaptor to be compatible. That is all for charging. As this has a "line in" input for auxiliary use, any device can be attached to play wit ha basic cable available at radio shack or just about anywhere else.

The ICFCS15IPBLKN is designed to Work with:iPhone 5 iPod touch (5th generation) iPod nano (7th generation). Inputs would be iPod 8-pin LightningTM Connector and Auxiliary Audio input. Older iPod cannot be charged but can be connected using a stereo mini plug.

Some protective cases may prevent the iPod/iPhone from getting a proper connection. In some instances, it may appear to have a solid connection while using the case, but it may not function properly. If it appears that your iPod/iPhone is not working/charging while connected to the docking station, remove the protective case and test for proper functionality.
