Considering the frustration level, I would say Yes. It's not worth it to keep spending $60 on ink for a printer that doesn't work. And you can get excellent home printers for under $80 now, so if I ever had an issue with one of my printers, I would literally just throw it out and go get another one. It's not worth the price it would cost to pay someone to fix the printer, when new ones are so cheap. I don't know where you saw $150, but look around at Best Buy, they have plenty excellent printers for less than $80.
BUT - I would suggest you shop for printers the way I do. Shop for ink first, and find the cheaper ones. Then choose a printer that uses that cheaper ink, you'll thank yourself later when you're saving money buying new ink.
