No. The SoundLink Mini needs a microphone to be used as a speakerphone and Bose did not install one. They would have to release an updated SoundLink Mini with a built-in microphone in order to be used as a speakerphone.
The SoundLink Mini speaker is designed strictly for audio playback, utilizing the A2DP Bluetooth profile. There are no plans to support speakerphone functions on this product.
I keep all my music on an older iPhone, and am wondering if the bluetooth on it will work again if it's connected to wifi, maybe? I'd only use this at home anyways. Thanks in advance!
Only if the computer has Bluetooth or you connect it through the headphone jack. You will need a stereo a wire with a 3.5 mm jack on both ends (BestBuy SKU# 4895315 for $4.99). Plug one end into the computer and the other end into the speaker. Alternatively, if you have Bluetooth on your laptop, pair it with the speaker and you're good to go. If you go with Bluetooth, I would still have the wire as a backup as it will be much more reliable.
The SoundLink Mini will definitely connect to a Bluetooth-enabled laptop and play any audio that would normally come through the laptop speakers. However, you may not find it ideal for video presentation as sending audio through Bluetooth can introduce some noticeable latency in the audio. While perfectly acceptable for music listening, this slight delay may cause poor sync of audio and video on some devices. (Connecting with an audio cable to the AUX input will not be subject to this potential delay.)
