Ths printer only uses toner cartridges. The HP LaserJet CE278A Black Print Cartridge used by this printer will print approximately 2,100 pages (based on 5% page coverage on letter-sized paper, a normal document).
This HP Printer is compatible with the Microsoft Windows 8 operating system with a free full feature software and driver download from the HP web site at:
Is this printer able to be stored away from wireless router like in another room centrally located or does it have to be stored next to the wireless router so it can hook up directly? Is there another HP "laser printer" that is a true wireless printer and also a scanner? I am replacing my HP 1000 series laser printer which is 9 yrs old and works perfectly, the only issue is HP didn't create an updated driver for VIsta, 7.. etc. it only works on XP and that computer is soooooooo slow and it freezes up now..Thanks for you assistance.
This printer does not have built-in wireless connectivity. Currently Best Buy does not have a solution that has been tested by HP to add wireless connectivity to this printer. Best Buy also does not carry an HP multifunction wireless printer at this time.
Why would you answer the current question of how many pages can be printed off a single toner cartridge at 2,100 only stating 5% page use? Who uses 2,100 pages at 5% of the page?
i thought the same thing and am still a bit confused. I think 5% means the whole page. I think if you added up the total area of a full page of letters, it may only come out to about 5% even though it is a full page of writing. Look at the paragraph I just wrote. See how much white area there is compared to black ink. Just a theory because it would make no sense otherwise to print 5% usage. If I am wrong, then you would only get 420 pages per cartridge which seems highly unlikely.
