I'm going to Ireland to do research for school and would like to bring my laptop bought in the USA. Will this or a different adapter allow me to re-charge my laptop?
Yes, this will work. The important thing to find out is if your laptop supports dual voltage. That way you will know if you need to use the convertor function.
at the back side of the device DX-TADPCON there is a voltage selector, now its set to the original one (see image), so if i travel to Europe shall i move the selector counter clockwise?? or just leave that way?? thanks
To be safe if you are plugging in a device you have only used in the US rotate the selector to change the setting to converter. That's what I did, because I was uncertain if my electronics could auto adapt and straight 230V can burn out devices which cannot auto adjust.
The answer will depend on what you're plugging in to it. If your device is dual voltage, then you want to leave it set the way it is. For your devices that use 120 V, it will need to be changed over to the convertor. Most phones and laptops use a dual voltage brick, so they should be fine with the setting in the picture.
I am Traveling from USA to France. Can I use this to charge, Cell phones, Cameras, lap tops, I-pad. And if so what setting would I put it on Adaptor or Converter ?
It worked well in Italy!! I charged my camera and cell phone very quickly! I dont see any reason why it would not work in France. It was also good for those unexpected power surchages that are frequent in older buildings.
That will depend on the device you have plugged in. You'll need to check whether they are single voltage or dual. If they are single, then you will need the convertor.
I will say that most cell phones are dual voltage so they would only need the adapter. The other device you mentioned are also likely dual voltage, but you will want to verify whether they are or not before plugging it in.
If the DX-TADPCON All-in-one Adapter and Converter Combo unit is set to be used as an Adapter ONLY, can it be used for items such as charging cell phones or for using CPAP machines (which have a Voltage rating of 100 - 240 Volts) over the course of 8 hours?
I'd like to use it to give power to a Kitchenaid I bought in USA and that will be used in Italy. This machine works @ 325 W, and I'm wondering: Is this wattage allowed by this adapter? If it works, do I have any kind of time bound using it?
It will depend on if the Kitchenaid is rated for both 110/120 V and 220/240 V. If it is only designed for single voltage, then you would need to use the adapter function as well. That is limited to 10 minutes at a time. We wouldn't recommend using it for long periods of time either way, but for short bursts it will be just fine.
Now you say it is not intended to charge electronics. I asked at Best Buy for a converter for my computer and they recommended this. Why only 10 minutes? That is useless.
I'm trying to use this product in Laos, but whenever I plug it in the surge light turns on and doesn't turn off. It seems that when the surge light is on it doesn't transmit any electricity so I'm unable to use it. I haven't had the chance to try it in other countries to compare. Is there anything I can do to address this problem?
