The TV series was a success because of the tongue-in cheek performance of Pierce Brosnan and the on-screen chemistry between him and Stephanie Zimbalist (daughter of Efrem Zimbalist, from TV series 77 Sun Set Strip and The FBI). I enjoyed watching a young Pierce Brosnan before his rise to movie stardom as 007. I could never understand why Stephanie Zimbalist did not go on to bigger things!@

I enjoyed seeing a younger Pierce Brosnan and a younger Doris Roberts before they became well-known stars in the movies and on TV. I never understood why Stephanie Zimbalist (daughter of Efrem Zimbalist from the TV series 77 Sunset Strip & The FBI) didn't go on to bigger things. The entire cast of the show was very good and the scripts were very enjoyable.

I recommend this 5 DVD set both for those who enjoyed the original TV airing (such as myself) as well as younger viewers. I enjoyed seeing character actors who later became well-known on TV and in the movies. The younger generation will enjoy seeing actual LA police cases being recreated and resolved in each episode.

Found this item unexpectedly as I was walking through my local Best Buy store. What is appealing is that it is lightweight and yet provides protection against "everyday bumps and bruises" because of its design. I also found appealing the exterior zippered pocket. The interior is perfect for storing and carrying my Samsung tablet and the outside pocket for carrying my Verizon Wi-Fi jetpack (both of these items were also purchased at Best Buy). In fact, I purchased more than one of these HP sleeves for use by other family members who had also purchased mobile tablets from Best Buy.

This somewhat fictionalized account of Jacqueline Susann (author of the bestseller "Valley of the Dolls") and her husband, Irving Mansfield, is somewhat entertaining but is more noteworthy for the actors than for the plot.

Director Kathryn Bigelow ("The Hurt Locker") has done it again! This film justifiably was a 2013 nominee for Best Picture. Kudos to her and to the actors.

great cinematography

I highly recommend . Music was wonderful and "live singing" as well as performances by Hugh Jackman and Ann Hathaway make it a DVD to remember. Enjoyed it more than Broadway production.
