Amazing in every way
on June 8, 2026
Posted by: PracticalSandy
The Shokz OpenDots2 made a great first impression before I even opened the box. The packaging is unique and has an eco‑friendly feel, almost like recycled material—which the box confirms. Inside, you get a compact pod case and a standard USB‑C cable, keeping things simple and clean.
The ear clips themselves are unlike anything I’ve used before. The material is extremely flexible, incredibly lightweight, and so comfortable that I can barely tell they’re on. I have sensitive skin, and most earbuds start causing soreness after about two hours, but these didn’t bother me at all. They sit so naturally that it almost feels like nothing is touching my ears.
The Shokz app was easy to follow, with clear visuals that made positioning and learning the controls effortless. The tutorial images are especially helpful if you’re new to this style of earbud.
And then there’s the sound. Wow. The audio quality is almost unbelievable—crystal clear and surprisingly full. The first time I streamed something, I actually took one ear clip off just to make sure all that sound was really coming from the device. They also give a little “ding” when you put them on while connected, which is a nice touch.
Overall, the OpenDots2 deliver comfort, clarity, and thoughtful design in a way that genuinely surprised me. They feel innovative without being complicated, and they sound fantastic. Highly recommended.

Lightweight, Accurate, and Effortless Health Track
on June 1, 2026
Posted by: PracticalSandy
The Fitbit Air arrives in clean, minimal packaging that includes just the device, its charger, and a simple instruction sheet. It sets the tone for what the product really is: straightforward, lightweight, and focused on the essentials.
Setup through the Fitbit app is excellent. The app provides extremely clear instructions with sharp graphics, making the onboarding process intuitive even for someone who doesn’t typically use wearables. It syncs easily with other health apps, which is a big plus if you already track wellness data across multiple platforms.
Functionally, the Fitbit Air covers the core metrics most people care about: step count, sleep tracking, heart rate, and blood oxygen levels. The sensors are responsive, and the readings update quickly. My husband — who never wears watches or jewelry — actually wears this one comfortably, which says a lot about the design. It’s lightweight, unobtrusive, and easy to forget you’re even wearing it.
Battery life is another strong point. It lasts a long time between charges, making it a genuinely effortless way to keep tabs on daily health without constant maintenance.
Overall, the Fitbit Air delivers a clean, simple, and technically reliable experience. It’s comfortable, accurate, and supported by an excellent app — a great choice for anyone who wants an easy, low‑effort way to track their health.

Great print quality - perfect display position
on June 1, 2026
Posted by: PracticalSandy
The HP Envy 6155 came well packaged, with handholds on each side that make the box easy and comfortable to carry — a small detail, but one that shows thoughtful design.
Setup is straightforward. The quick start guide is clear, simple, and easy to follow. The printer itself has a large, bright display positioned at just the right angle, making it easy to read during setup and everyday use.
For installation, the printer gives you the option to scan a QR code or visit a website to complete setup and install the software and ink. The QR code didn’t work, so I switched to my phone. While I would have preferred to complete the entire setup directly on the printer, the mobile installation process was excellent — clean visuals, clear instructions, and very easy to follow.
After that, I had to download additional HP software to connect the printer to Wi‑Fi. It wasn’t difficult, but it did feel like more steps than necessary.
Once everything was up and running, the performance was solid. Print quality is good, colors are accurate, and the speed is perfectly acceptable for home use. I printed four full‑color labels, and they came out crisp and clean.
Overall, the HP Envy 6155 delivers good print quality and an easy setup experience, with just a few extra steps that could be streamlined. It’s a reliable choice for everyday printing needs. I also like the HP Ink option - a monthly service and they send you ink when needed.

Extremely Comfortable and Great Noise Cancellation
on May 29, 2026
Posted by: PracticalSandy
The Marshall Milton A.N.C. headphones made a great first impression right out of the box. The packaging is smartly designed—even the tape on the bottom has little pull tabs, which makes opening it surprisingly easy. Inside, everything feels premium: a beautiful carrying bag, a charging cord, and an audio jack.
Setup was mostly smooth. The software installation was straightforward, though I did see two “Milton ANC” devices pop up during pairing (one with “LE”), which was a bit confusing at first. Once I selected the correct one, they paired quickly and have stayed connected well most of the time.
The sound quality is spectacular—rich, full, and immersive. The active noise cancelling is extremely effective at blocking out external noise. In fact, it works so well that my ears occasionally get a little "moist" from how sealed-in the experience is.
Comfort is one of the biggest highlights. This is easily one of the most comfortable headsets I’ve ever worn. The ear cushions are soft and plush, and the tension on the headband is just right—secure without ever feeling tight. I can wear them for long stretches without any discomfort.
Battery life is excellent, and I love how they fold neatly into the included bag. It makes them feel even more travel‑friendly and well thought out.
I have run into one small issue: on rare occasions, the headphones show as connected but the sound won’t play on videos. When that happens, it’s really nice to have the included audio jack as a backup. Plugging in solves the problem instantly.
Overall, the Marshall Milton A.N.C. headphones offer outstanding sound, top‑tier comfort, and thoughtful design. Even with the occasional Bluetooth hiccup, which I have not troubleshooted yet, they’re a fantastic choice for anyone who wants high‑quality audio with strong noise cancellation.

Seriously impressed with performance
on May 8, 2026
Posted by: PracticalSandy
The HP OMEN 35L continues the OMEN legacy of delivering high‑performance hardware in a clean, well‑engineered chassis, and this generation raises the bar even further. The system arrived packaged securely, with excellent internal protection. One of the first things I appreciated was the case design: the locks on the bottom allow the top panel to slide off easily, making internal access simple and tool‑free. It’s a smart touch that shows HP understands how enthusiasts maintain and upgrade their systems.
Setup was straightforward with the typical Windows onboarding process. Once powered on, the customizable OMEN RGB lighting adds a polished, modern look without being distracting. The lighting transitions are smooth, and the software makes it easy to dial in the exact style you want.
From a hardware standpoint, the specs are strong for this configuration. The 16GB of DDR5 memory provides excellent bandwidth for multitasking, and the Intel Core i7‑14700F is a serious performer. Paired with the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5060, the system handles modern gaming, streaming, and productivity workloads with ease.
I tested it across movies, daily tasks, and several demanding games. Movie playback was smooth and stutter‑free. Gaming responsiveness was especially impressive — no lagging, no frame drops, and no thermal throttling even during extended sessions. The processing speed stands out the most. Downloading and installing large, graphics‑heavy games took almost no time, thanks to the combination of the CPU and the fast 1TB SSD.
Port selection is another strong point. The OMEN 35L offers a generous number of ports, including several conveniently placed on the front of the machine. Having front‑facing USB ports and an audio jack makes quick connections — controllers, headsets, flash drives — incredibly easy. On the back, there’s a full array of USB options, HDMI and DisplayPort outputs from the GPU, Ethernet, and additional audio connections. It’s a well‑balanced layout that supports both everyday use and more complex setups without requiring adapters or constant cable swapping.
I’ve owned an older OMEN for years, so I already knew HP builds reliable gaming desktops. Even with that expectation, this model surpassed what I anticipated. It’s faster, quieter, more refined, and clearly designed with both performance and user experience in mind.
Overall, the HP OMEN 35L is a fantastic upgrade — powerful, efficient, thoughtfully engineered, and ready for anything from high‑end gaming to heavy multitasking. I’m thoroughly impressed.

My new favorite monitor
on May 8, 2026
Posted by: PracticalSandy
The Dell SE2726HS impressed me right out of the box. It arrived well packaged, with every piece secured to prevent damage during shipping. Setup was refreshingly simple — the instructions were clear, and although Dell includes tools (even a screwdriver), the assembly was so straightforward that I barely needed them.
Once on the desk, the monitor immediately stood out for its excellent adjustment range. Adjusting the screen for the perfect viewing angle takes almost no effort, which makes long sessions much more comfortable. The picture quality is crisp and clean, with a clear resolution and noticeably low glare. Whether I’m gaming or watching movies, the 27" size feels just right — large enough to be immersive without overwhelming the space.
The small bezel gives it a modern, minimal look, and the overall build feels solid and thoughtfully designed. After using it, I’m already planning to buy more of these for future setups. It’s a fantastic value and a monitor I can confidently recommend.

Quiet, Efficient, and Surprisingly Advanced
on April 25, 2026
Posted by: PracticalSandy
The Shark BreatheClear Max arrived extremely well packed, with enough protection that I wasn’t worried about damage during shipping. It is larger than I expected, but the size makes sense once you see the airflow design and filtration system.
Setup is simple and well explained. The instructions are clear, though you do have to flip the unit over to remove the plastic from the filter before powering it on. After that, it’s essentially plug‑and‑go. The display screen is bright, easy to read, and gives you real‑time air quality feedback, which makes the technology feel both transparent and reassuring.
What impressed me most is the filtration system. Shark’s “NeverChange” filter branding is a little confusing at first. The box says “zero filter changes” but also mentions saving up to $350 on replacements. It finally clicked that the savings refer to how long the filter lasts—not that it never needs replacing. After checking online, I learned the main filter is designed to last up to six years, which is far longer than typical HEPA units. You do still clean the prefilters every eight weeks with a vacuum or damp cloth, but that’s quick and easy.
Performance-wise, the improvement was noticeable. My air quality reading started at 72%, and within just a few hours it climbed to 97%. The unit runs very quietly, even on higher settings, which makes it easy to forget it’s running at all. Between the quiet operation, the efficient filtration, and the real‑time air quality tracking, it gives a genuine sense of peace of mind.
I’m especially excited to see whether it helps reduce dust levels throughout the house over time. Based on the early results, I’m optimistic.

Technically Impressive, Surprisingly Versatile
on April 25, 2026
Posted by: PracticalSandy
The HP OmniBook X Flip makes a strong first impression even before powering it on. Although my shipping box arrived slightly dented, the laptop itself was perfectly protected, which speaks to HP’s packaging design. Inside, the setup is refreshingly simple: a clean quick‑start sheet and a compact power adapter that’s noticeably smaller than most standard laptop chargers. According to HP’s official specs, the system uses a 65W USB‑C Power Delivery charger, which makes the laptop lighter, more portable.
From a connectivity standpoint, the OmniBook X Flip is far more generous than many modern ultraportables. It includes two USB‑A 3.2 ports, two USB‑C (USB 4.0) ports, HDMI 2.1, and a 3.5mm audio jack, giving you a full spread of legacy and modern options without needing a hub. There’s also a clever magnetic attachment point for a stylus—something I found surprisingly unique and genuinely useful for quick access.
At just over 3 lbs, it’s light enough to rest comfortably on your lap for extended periods without feeling heavy. The keyboard is another standout: a full‑size, backlit layout with a dedicated numeric keypad, which is rare on a 14‑inch convertible and makes data entry or long typing sessions feel natural and efficient.
Performance is where this machine really shines. With configurations offering Intel Core Ultra processors or AMD Ryzen AI chips, plus fast LPDDR5X memory and PCIe Gen4 SSDs, the system is built for speed. In everyday use, that translated into exceptional responsiveness. For example, opening OneNote and loading five large notebooks happened noticeably faster than on my other laptops—an experience consistent with the high benchmark scores reported for these CPUs.
I did run into some trouble pairing my earbuds, though this may have been an issue with the earbuds themselves rather than the laptop’s Bluetooth 5.x hardware. The connection was stable once paired.
The 360‑degree flip function turned out to be far more practical than I expected. In reverse or tent mode, watching movies on my lap becomes more comfortable because the keyboard folds out of the way, leaving only the display accessible. For creative tasks, the touchscreen and stylus support make handwriting, markup, and drawing apps feel natural—especially with the sturdy hinge and responsive touch layer. HP’s specs confirm the display uses Corning Gorilla Glass and supports multitouch, which matches the smooth experience I had.
Overall, the HP OmniBook X Flip blends thoughtful hardware design with strong technical performance. Between the excellent port selection, lightweight build, fast processing, and surprisingly useful flip modes, it feels like a well‑rounded machine that adapts to work, creativity, and entertainment with ease. It is now my everyday go to laptop.

Practical Design and Dependable Performance
on April 10, 2026
Posted by: PracticalSandy
The Sennheiser RS 27T wireless TV headphones offer practical design and dependable performance, though they do fall short in a few areas that may matter to some users.
Unboxing & Setup
The packaging is clean, organized, and clearly labeled, which makes a strong first impression. The quick‑start guide deserves credit — the illustrations for installation and setup are genuinely helpful and easy to follow.
One unusual design choice is that the transmitter draws power from the TV’s USB port rather than a wall adapter. It works fine, but it feels unconventional for a home‑audio product. It also raises the question of whether the headset can charge when the TV is off; in most setups, USB ports on modern TVs do continue to supply power in standby mode, but this varies by model.
Charging & Design
Instead of a charging cradle (like Sennheiser’s RS 175 or RS 195 series), the RS 27T requires plugging the headset directly into a cable. It’s a small inconvenience, but if you’re used to drop‑in charging stands, it feels like a step backward in usability.
The controls on the headset are intuitive and easy to operate by touch — a plus for TV watchers who don’t want to fumble in the dark.
Comfort & Fit
Comfort is good overall, with soft ear pads and a lightweight frame. However, the clamping force is on the tighter side. For users with larger heads — like your husband — the fit may feel snug after longer viewing sessions.
Sound Quality
The RS 27T offers clear, reliable audio, but it doesn’t reach the richer, more immersive sound signature that Sennheiser is known for in their higher‑end models. Even when switching between the available sound modes (speech enhancement, clarity boost, etc.), the audio can occasionally feel slightly “hollow,” almost like listening in a hallway. Dialogue is generally easy to understand, but the overall soundstage is narrower than expected.
Connectivity & App Experience
Pairing with the Sennheiser app is possible but frustratingly difficult. The good news is that the app isn’t essential — the headphones work fine without it, and most key features are accessible directly from the headset or transmitter.
Overall Impression
The Sennheiser RS 27T is a practical, user‑friendly TV listening solution with dependable performance. It excels in ease of use, comfort for most users, and straightforward setup. However, the sound quality is good rather than exceptional, the fit may be tight for larger heads, and the charging method feels less convenient than competing models with docking stands.
If your priority is clear TV audio with minimal fuss, the RS 27T delivers. If you’re looking for premium sound or a more luxurious charging experience, you may want to explore Sennheiser’s higher‑tier RS models.

Exceptional Quality with Smart, Thoughtful Feature
on February 13, 2026
Posted by: PracticalSandy
The Soundcore Liberty 5 earbuds made a strong impression right from the unboxing. The packaging feels premium, and I appreciated that it came with multiple ear tip sizes and a charging cord so I could get the right fit immediately. The charging case itself is beautifully designed, with a smooth slide‑open mechanism that feels sturdy and satisfying to use. Once I lifted the lid, the setup instructions were clear and easy to follow, and the earbuds arrived almost fully charged, which meant I could start using them right away.
Pairing was effortless. As soon as they connected, I was prompted to download the Soundcore app, and I’m glad I did. The app is clean, intuitive, and includes simple video guides that walk you through the features. One of the standout elements is the built‑in hearing test, which tailors the sound profile to your personal hearing. That’s a level of customization I don’t usually see in earbuds at this price point, and it genuinely enhances the listening experience.
The technical performance is impressive. With Bluetooth 5.3, the connection is fast and stable, and the adaptive active noise cancelling adjusts smoothly to different environments. The earbuds support Hi‑Res Audio with LDAC on compatible devices, and the sound quality—especially in noise cancelling mode—is rich, full, and immersive. Music, podcasts, and calls all sound clear and balanced. I also enjoy the extra features available through the app, such as sleep stories and white noise options, which make the earbuds even more versatile for relaxation or focus.
Comfort is another strong point. I wore the Liberty 5s for several hours without any discomfort, and they stayed securely in place. As a side sleeper, I can’t comfortably sleep in them, but that’s more about my sleeping position than the earbuds themselves. For daytime use, they’re excellent. The battery life is also impressive, offering long listening sessions before needing a recharge, and the case provides additional power on the go.
Overall, the Soundcore Liberty 5 earbuds deliver exceptional quality, thoughtful features, and a premium listening experience. From the sound performance to the comfort to the smart app integration, they feel like a well‑designed product from top to bottom. I’m genuinely impressed and very comfortable recommending them.

Does your voice playback through the headset? I always have one earphone off so I can hear myself so I'm not too loud and that's how my last headset broke

That would be a setting on you computer - under the Sound setting. When you plug in the the earphone jack, it should play back in your headset. If you want to hear it through your speakers, unplug the earphone jack (leave the microphone jack plugged in to record).
