I have to admit that I really enjoyed the original Pacific Rim with Charlie Hunnam. There was a seriousness and believability about it with his acting. However, the sequel seems a little too flashy and jazzed up and the actors are very young. I also don't care for John Boyega as an actor because his acting seems a little too forced at times and not natural.
In terms of 4k content, sure, it's good. You are going to see some nice robots and action. I am more a follower of stories and good acting and the movies seems to fall short here. There a lot of movies that attempt to make up for lack of theme and good acting with CG and modern movie technology. The "yes" recommendation is because you will probably enjoy it just if you want to watch some action.

Excellent presentation of a beloved superheroine!

Wonder woman starts off with character development, as most movies do when introducing new superheroes. So, given that, it may seem a little slow as you learn about the hidden island and progress towards the war zone. However, this is necessary in order to develop the characters. Think of this as a prequel for sequels to come, where you don't have to develop the characters as much and more action and mystery can be developed.
On the island of the Amazons, it may seem a little slow when you see them training and fighting, but you need to get past the introduction of Wonder Woman and just realize that it's necessary development. Think of it as a roller coaster where you are on the rise to begin your high-speed run.
Further development happens as Wonder Woman leaves her island and joins society, guided by Steve Trevor (Chris Pine). It is at this point where the story begins to pick up. Wonder's Woman's character begins to shine as she sees the devastation caused by the war - again, necessary development. She is really very innocent about all that is happening but, once she begins to understand, the person she is starts to come forth - and it's beautiful.
Once Wonder Woman breaks onto the scene where she rushes across the field "No Man's Land" and takes on gunfire, that is where the action really begins, in my opinion. The choreography of the fight scenes and slow-motion moves really highlight the action sequences and I thought it was executed very well. Gal Gadot is such an incredible fit for this role and her attitude and personality really seals the performance.
In terms of the 4k presentation, it is phenomenal. It looks great in HDR and I can't say anything bad about it. I've seen bad 4k presentations even on newer movies, but this certainly isn't one of them.
Female actors deserve more praise and attention than they have been receiving and this movie shows why. I was delighted to see a female producer put this movie together - she clearly got it right!

Good Entertainment if You Have Nothing Else to Do

If you have a day where you just don't know what to do, pull out "Kong: Skull Island" and sit back and just enjoy it. There are no plots within plots to keep you guessing what this movie is about and there are no twists and turns that catch you off guard. There's just a lot of action.
The movie is filled with a lot of action and monsters fighting monsters, but that's the show right there. I actually prefer the original "King Kong" (2005) over this one because there was more of a story line and more "mystery". In "Kong", once you hit the island the action breaks loose - which is great for those who like a lot of action. Nothing wrong with that!
In terms of the 4k presentation, it looks good. I don't recall a lot of HDR visuals, but maybe that is because of the nature of the movie (for example, "The Revenant" really showed off HDR visuals).
This movie won't disappoint you, but it's not a movie I would pay $30 for. Get it on sale and enjoy!

4K picture not as good as expected

The 4-star rating is for the picture. The movie has been out a while and you probably already know what it's about, so I am not reviewing the movie content, but the 4k release. I bought it because I wanted the HDR and 4k goodies. However, the picture quality doesn't seem to live up to what I am used to seeing in a 4k upgrade, but reminds me of a standard blu ray release. The movie has a very dark ambient setting in many scenes, so it can be difficult to tell when watching those scenes. However, even in some of the brighter scenarios, I am left feeling like, "So, where is the 4k upgrade?" I am disappointed about the 4k release, but not the movie content. If you are swapping out your blu ray version for a 4k version, you might do better to just keep a hold of the blu ray version.

You need specific gear to watch Dolby Vision, but it's a treat. The same holds true for Despicable Me. I've ways liked the HD Glass+ protectors, but wait for them to go on sale to get a more reasonable price. If they reduced the width of this protector by 1 millimeter it would fit perfectly without overhanging the screen at the edges. When installing this protector make sure that the notch on the shield that goes below the microphone is only slightly below the microphone for the best vertical fit, and then you won't have any shield overhang at the top and bottom of the phone. You don't want the notch to have equal spacing around the microphone or the shield will overhang at the bottom of the screen.

A little pricey, but worth it

Sony does make some solid products, but they also are known for charging premium prices. With some products this is more evident than others. I've been playing some 4k game titles on the PS4 Pro and they look fantastic. I started looking for a used PS4 Pro, but then decided just to buy new. To play games in 4k HDR is an immersive experience and, if you can fork out the extra $100 over the standard PS4, it's worth it, in my opinion. I don't use a game console to watch any kind of DVD, so when I bought this I was not concerned whether or not it could play 4k movie titles (it can't). Some will judge it based on that inclusion and say it's not worth the price, but it's a solid gaming console without the ability to play 4k movie titles.

Yes, it will. It's a 4K TV, with HDR10 and Dolby Vision. It supports all color modes at 4K resolution and 60 hertz, which is important for gaming. Its HDMI connections are all HDCP 2.2 compliant - another important requirement. These are the requirements for the Xbox1 X. Make sure to connect your Xbox to the HDMI 1 port, which supports all color formats. Ports 2 through 4 do not and are more limited.
