Plugs into your Lightening port and outputs to an HDMI connection on your TV. you will have to manual use the IPAD or IPHONE to cycle through content on your phone (no remote control feature) but it works as simple as that. Some programs will not support the device (LIVE COMCAST App will not allow for you use it while plugged in) but works for HULU, YOUTUBE, NETFLIX, and VUDU.

Is this adapter compatible with the Turtle Beach XO Three headset? Ive been searching forever for the microsoft adapter (sold out everywhere thats not an arm and a leg)

Yes, this should work. The adapter has a 3.5 mm jack that you would plug the headset into. 3.5mm plugs allows for both sound and voice to pass through it.
