Once again, Disney has done a great job in upgrading a classic movie to BluRay. The picture & sound are excellent, looking beautiful and vibrant. A handful of nice extras are included. A standout among them is "The Further Adventures of Thunderbolt": taking the in-movie cartoon which the dogs watch on a TV set, Disney animators have expanded what they were watching into a full story that we can see for the first time ever. One of the more clever video extras I've seen in a long time!

Among the horror franchises of its period, this one is my favorite. This isn't a perfect presentation for it, but depending on what you've bought into in the past, it is quite good. The Blu-Ray presentations of the movies look good, even though some have to double up in the later parts.
There are a lot of documentary extras including nearly all the ones from the recent releases of 1-8 and just about everything from "JGtH", "X", "FvJ" and the recent remake. It also includes the ones from the 1-8 only boxed set. There are a handful of things missing, including some commentaries. One big omission is that while the first movie is still the recently released "Uncut" version, the "JGtH" here is only the theatrical one (while the original DVD included an uncut version too).
The physical extras are nice: a rubber wristband, a camp counselor patch and a miniature teaser book with excerpts from the excellent documentary book.

When TNG debuted I was skeptical of it being a worthy successor for Star Trek. In time it found its voice to be both similar to and yet distinct from the original series. The final season had a few slips story-wise, but overall was great and led to a fun concluding episode for the series as a whole.
Besides a beautiful audio & video presentation of the episodes themselves, the set includes several informative documentary pieces.
Mortal Kombat II: Legacy offers backstory on each character and details the events that led them to enter and fight in a notoriously violent tournament.

I'm a big fan of the original Mortal Kombat games and the 1990's movies. I was pleased a few years ago when the first "Legacy" project was released, feeling like a strong successor to the past. This continues the great work they are doing & I hope to see more.

I love the solo work that Peter Gabriel has done, particularly the album "So". This was a great concert that included many of his best songs, but also featured the entire "So" album. It was nice to see everything from that one get a live performance, some songs (I suspect) for the first time ever.

I am a big fan of Patton Oswalt's stand-up comedy, and this continues his great work. This 2-disc release is nice because it has a DVD I can watch at home as well as a CD that I can take in the car.

This was an interesting new take on a pretty well-known story. A look from the "villain's perspective" that I enjoyed. Clever writing and beautiful visuals made for an entertaining film.
The sixth season of this crime drama opens with Beckett (Stana Katic) accepting a marriage proposal from Castle (Nathan Fillion). However, their road to the altar gets a little bumpy when Beckett also accepts a new high-profile job in Washington, D.C. Meanwhile, things don't go smoothly for Castle and Alexis (Molly Quinn) when he doesn't approve of the new boyfriend she's brought home from Costa Rica. Castle gets a glimpse at what parenthood would be like a second time when he and Beckett temporarily care for a baby who was carried into a church by a man dying from gunshot wounds. And Ryan (Seamus Dever) and his wife excitedly prepare for their first child, but she goes into labor while Ryan is investigating a dangerous arson case.

This season of Castle had some of its best work with few down notes. The 'Caskett' wedding was threaded pretty well through the whole thing, never dominating until it was expected to in the season finale. Storylines from the past like 3XK and Senator Bracken give very gripping and tense stories, but it also felt like the writers turned up the comedy element again.
Each disc on the set included a handful of deleted scenes and commentary options. The final disc also had some behind the scenes featurettes.

This release compiles all 23 episodes from the fourth season of Castle. This run of shows finds Beckett getting closer to the truth about her mother's death, as Castle grows more protective of her.

I felt some frustration through "Castle"s season 4. There were still a lot of good episodes, but in some ways it felt like they hit the 'relationship' wall pretty badly. The instances of "why doesn't [ ] tell [ ] the important thing already" do start to drag when a show goes on this long. To its credit, I wouldn't call this a deal-breaker or a reason to have stopped. For all it takes to get there, they payoff is big.
The amount of bonus features felt lighter this time around. A stunt analysis is based on a 2-part story and a feature on Bowman & his father is tied to one other episode. There is an interesting 'radio play' sort of one with Nathan Fillion & Molly Quinn, some good stuff but not really about the "Castle" show.

What's great about it: Some good bonus features
What's not so great: A weaker season, fewer bonuses
