I installed this as an upgrade to a previous Netgear router due to increased demand for bandwidth in more remote areas of the house. This router successfully delivered an excellent signal around a large stone fireplace. It improved signal strength in the basement and upstairs. Instead of 1-4 mbps throughput with the old router in challenged areas we were hitting a minimum of 50mbps. The old router wasn’t a bad one, but was three years old and became inadequate with the addition of two smart tvs and tablets in more remote areas of the home.

This is an inexpensive network extender. I found the performance to match the general consensus of the other reviews in that it drops to 2-3 Mbps after some time. After a reboot or restart the performance improves for a while. Try a more expensive product, you will get more.

I have a 2008 Asus mt2070 laptop. So old they don't support it anymore on the web. However, I managed to load xp, Win7, Win8.1 and fonally Windows 10. It came with Vista. It has been an outstanding laptop and this is the last OS I will load on it. The demands on the HDD are not extravagant but the space was very welcome. Get this drove to speed it all up!

Accomplish more on your PC with these PNY desktop DIMM modules, which have a clock frequency of 1600MHz. The DDR3 sticks have a combined capacity of 16GB to let you load and utilize more applications at the same time. These PNY desktop DIMM modules have excellent thermal performance to prevent overheating.

This personal cloud exceeds my expectations in terms of throughput and accessibility. This is a plug and play cloud. I had no troubleshooting to perform just plugged it in and went for it.
There are caveats to utilizing this device if you have a metered data plan as I do. When enabling UPnP on your router, it allows the cloud to advertise to your app and other devices. This advertising costs data which is very relevant to a metered connection but of no consequence to the wired broadband user (comcast, cox, fios, etc.).

My wife has both a Mac and a Windows OS run computers..
My wife uses a Mac for her creating of art type stuff and the Windows computer to run her websites. She wants to use this cloud hard drive to be able to store files to use interchangeably and also as back for both computers. Is this possible with this hard drive?
I believe the answer to your question actually lies in the file types she is using. Is she using files that cross platforms (ie .doc files for Word) or is she using MAC specific file types and trying to get them to a Windows platform? Since the Mycloud is a Linux device (Debian I believe) it simply provides a network storage area and will be OS agnostic in this regard.

I am worried that is someone can gets into the cloud and then they can have access back into my computer system or network
access back into my computer network through the cloud. Is there a way that extra security can be added to the clouds software? Maybe Bitlocker.
I found this link, though it seems outdated since updated firmware has been released and you are prompted to update firmware on accessing the device. Nevertheless, Here is the article from September 2015:

How many hard drives are in the 4TB unit (NAS) and can it be setup for RAID.
Does anyone know how many hard drives come inside of the 4TB unit and is the system software robust where it can be configured to run RAID
There is only room for a single 4TB WD drive in the device. I looked at a teardown of a 4TB cloud, it looked like a WD Red drive (NAS specific) and while the software on the attached board might allow for a hack to allow for a RAID configuration, there is only one SATA connection on the board and there is no room in the case for a second drive. So hacking a 4TB to make a RAID might be possible, but you would be better served to just purchase a mirrored 6TB unit or using a different unit for RAID functionality.
