Bought this for my Elite controller to use with a wired headset where the volume controls (and mute) were on the earpieces (or one where it's half way up the wire). This allows me to mute and control the audio balance between the game and voice chat on the fly without having to take my hands off the controller. If you find yourself in a similar situation, get this.

If you don't have a PS4 and have a 4K TV, you might as well get this over the regular PS4. If you already have a regular PS4 and a 4K TV, it's probably not worth the cost of an upgrade, unless you can sell your old one, or you're like me, and wanted a PS4 to keep at your girlfriend's house.
You'd be hard pressed to notice the improvement in graphics or general performance unless you're viewing the games side by side (which you won't be). It'd be easier to recommend if Sony included a 4K Blu Ray player, but they didn't. There are cheaper (and better) ways to get 4K content from Netflix and YouTube, etc. Is the PS4 Pro a good system? Yes, but they could have (and should have) charged a bit more and included a bit more.

It's better than the last "Bourne" movie that didn't have Bourne in it, but it's not as good as the first three. It's been done before, and better, and it mostly treads the same ground as the previous films. Worth a watch if you like the Bourne movies and worth a purchase if you need to complete your Bourne collection, but hard to recommend otherwise.

Vizio doesn't make the best TVs, but their price/performance ratio is hard to beat. They offer good picture and good features at an affordable price. The remotes tend to be pretty hit or miss, and I recommend getting a soundbar to go along with it, but if you want a quality TV without paying big brand prices, Vizio makes my list of recommendations.
The VIZIO SmartCast 38~ 3.1 Sound Bar System delivers surround sound that produces up to 101 dB1. Download the VIZIO SmartCast app2 to turn your mobile device into the ultimate remote and discover music across multiple apps at once.

A while back, I purchased an almost identical set that came with two surround speakers. That one performed well enough that I decided to purchase another soundbar for the other room. The space I put it in didn't really NEED surround sound, so I opted to save a few bucks and get the 3.1 version instead. I'm not sure if the quality isn't the same on this revision, or if the lack of surround speakers really makes that big of a difference, but this set sounds remarkably hollow compared to the 5.1 set. It's still better than the TV speakers, but if I had to do it over, I'd get the surround model (again).

Watchmen is a great movie. Very faithful to the source material while making some necessary changes. Reviewing it as a 4K Ultra HD Blu-Ray though, it falls a bit short.
First, the obvious. 4K Blu-Ray is expensive. It's nice that it comes with standard Blu-Ray disks too, but it's still a lot to pay (especially for a movie I already own).
Second, the transfer of this movie, while done well, is unfortunately upscaled to 4K. This is especially noticable when the movie attempts to meld CGI with real footage. This is not the studio being lazy with the transfer, but rather the fault of the movie itself only being originally mastered in 2K (like most older movies, and still a lot of new movies). Unfortunately, there's no discount for not being "true" 4K.

As a child of the 80s, I grew up on LEGO and on Ghostbusters. Finally having the two officially together is great, and Dimensions extends that just that little bit further. I'd love to see a more "full size" Stay Puft, but for the purpose of the Dimensions game, this obviously makes more sense.

Ultra in the HD sense that is. Other than that, it's pretty much the same old Chromecast I've known and loved, only more appropriately matched to my 4K TV.
On the flip side, it's pretty much the same Chromecast I've known and loved. No real improvements made, same old shortcomings.

I'm old. I was in sixth grade when the first Resident Evil came out on the original PlayStation. It was terrifying. Unfortunately, as the years continued, Resident Evil turned left when it should have gone right. It went action when it should have stuck to horror. While there were some good action based Resident Evil games, it wasn't the same. The action, at least for me, made me care less about the stories, and the less I cared about the stories, the less I played.
Fortunately, Resident Evil 7 returns to the survival horror genre. I was skeptical of the first person perspective, but it works, so much so that I decided to buy PlayStation VR to take it one step further. Despite some odd VR choices, it was a much better experience. Better controls, better immersion, but thats a whole other review entirely.
Resident Evil 7 breathes new life back into the stagnant franchise with a great story and great atmosphere. If you can handle the horror, I highly recommend it.
Control your life with the Amazon Echo. It started with a music player that could play anything from Prime Music to Spotify and Pandora, and it gives you hands-free convenience, yet it can now control lights, switches and thermostat and answer questions thanks to advanced voice recognition. Use the Amazon Echo to order an Uber or even pizza from Domino's.

Amazon Echo is a smart home device, but it's not quite as smart as Google Home. It also doesn't integrate with your smartphone as anything more than a mediocre bluetooth speaker. I don't care about ordering products from Amazon using my voice, and I wish Alexa would answer my more obscure questions like Google does.
Where the Echo shines right now though is with smart home integration. I use the Echo to control my Philips Hue lights and control all of my home theater devices through my Harmony Hub (and soon, full control over my Dish Hopper through a Dish/Amazon partnership). It's a bit more expensive than I would have liked, and I ended up adding an Echo Dot to the other room, so I didn't have to yell for Alexa to hear me.
In hindsight, if you don't need a mediocre bluetooth speaker, get the Echo Dot instead (which you can hook to speakers of your own choice).
