I bought this for my parents as they have a place where the Nest would work well. Personally, I use ecobee as I need the remote sensors. But I see the two on par and it all comes down to the features that are important to you. The nest really evolved this category and it continues to be a leader so you can't go wrong.

These are a little pricey, but so far this is the only game in town if you want multi room sensing capabilities. Which I really need due to room layout.
They can be a little tricky to position, but they seem to work well and are very unobtrusive. 3M command Velcro strips work well for mounting these to a wall.

Great, once you figure it out

To start, I considered and really wanted to go with Nest, but my thermostat is in an unused room, so it's sensor capabilities would not have worked at all. I read about the ecobee and liked to remote sensor concept as it fit my house layout much better.
First, it can get expensive with multiple sensors, but you don't have to use them if you can leverage the 2 that are included (1 in thermostat and 1 extra). Getting the sensors positioned well can be a little tricky so that it properly senses temp and occupancy. HomeKit integration has potential, but it requires turning off some of the smart features, so I haven't done it yet.
I've only had it for a month and am still getting the hang of it, but the app and Today screen widget are well done and responsive.

Great live adaptation of the film

For those used to the Disney animated version of the story, this is a little bit different telling. The story is very good, and it is well acted and the visuals are stunning. I highly recommend this for anyone that is a Disney or princess fan.
Note: I pre-ordered at a higher price that when it shipped, and BB only charged me the price when it shipped. I also got it a day before it hit the actual stores, so big kudos to BB.

Overall a good and cheap sound bar if you find it on sale. Sound is good and setup quick. I wish it had more HDMI inputs (1), but it's not designed or priced to switch sources. They expect your TV to do that.
Cinema mode is a little bass heavy, but otherwise it's generally an improvement over built in speakers.

Surround setup?
I currently have a wired system. Does it make sense to use a soundbar like this one (I'm planning on purchasing an LG TV) along with my wired rear speakers to get a 5.1 experience?

If your rear surrounds are already wired, I'd say to go with a wired system. You will get more bang for your buck that way as you can get a powered sub that is a _lot_ more powerful than the one in this kit. While this isn't a bad kit, it's certainly not audiophile grade. You will always get better sound from a wired setup as it doesn't have to convert the sound to some compressed digital format to send to the speaker to then convert it back to analog to actually be played by the speakers.
