This story is set in a time of chaos, in a land where the Midland Kingdom and the Chuder Empire have been locked in a widespread war for over one hundred years. During one battle, a lone mercenary, Guts, attracts the attention of the mercenaries of the Band of the Hawk, and is ambushed by some of them on the road. After losing in a duel to the leader of the Hawks, Griffith, Guts is forced to join their band, where he acquires many new comrades, including a woman named Casca, a Unit Commander in the band.

Great Manga, Mediocre Game

This game is a video game representation of the Japanese anime/manga series. In regards to the game itself, the single player game is generic. Button mashing is repetitive, and the game loses one player's interest very quickly. This has the template to be a great "Dynasty Warriors" like game, however it falls flat in many aspects.

The New Order is the clear standout here, and is a must play if you intend to play its direct sequel called The New Colossus. This game is another game in the Wolfenstein series, featuring B.J. Blazkowicz as the protagonist. The shooting action is fast-paced and plays very well. There are parts of the game where the difficulty spikes, but if you're looking for a brief eight hour campaign, this is for you. I personally love playing games revolving around revisionist history, that is what happens if the Germans did win World War II?...

More fun than Assassin's Creed Black Flag

Ubisoft took a year off last year and didn't release a full feature Assassin's Creed game in 2016 (like they did every year before that.) The extra time off shows in the polish of the game. Egypt is beautiful, and some of the cities in the game (such as Alexandria) show off incredible detail. If anything new came into the game, it's that the main protagonist now has a horse he can call. This essentially feels like it was lifted from Witcher 3, how Geralt can call Roach for ease of travel. In addition to this, it feels like many elements from Witcher 3 were adopted into this Assassin's Creed game, such as the loot, level system, and even the quest HUD. Basically this game feels like a spiritual successor to Witcher 3, and that it's set in the Assassin's Creed universe, this isn't a bad thing.

This game features all of the traditional Fire Emblem stars (e.g. Mirth, Corrin, et al.) and plays like the other games in the series. It's nothing ground breaking, and they play it safe by sticking with the same traditional formula. Then again this game is a Nintendo Switch title, and for a platform that is lacking of titles in general, for that reason alone I recommend this as a purchase.
