I am really enjoying my time with these clip-on ear buds by Shokz. The Open Dots 2 is a clip-on style ear bud that does not go in the ear. While I have another pair of clip-on ear buds that are good, the Open Dots 2 is IP57 rated against sweat and water which is a huge bonus for me and now my wife as she gets to use these on her runs. We both avoid the in-ear ear buds because they are just uncomfortable to wear. The Open Dots feel barely there even though they are the biggest conduction clip-on pair I have.
The OD2 comes with a 10 hour battery life, which is more than enough for me. Uses a Type-C charge which is fast in my opinion. The shell seems very small for what it is. This is technically a drawback for me, though not a big deal: the shell, while small, does not have a sitting base to sit it up. I just have it lying there on its back.
Getting back to the features, I like that I can tap to change songs which seems standard. With the OP2, you can use 2 fingers to pinch the battery area behind the ear to do the same function. I just like this because it feels better doing that then tapping my ear all the time. The ear buds also come with Bluetooth 6.1 which is nice. Pairing is fast and is done the first time. The OD2 can pair 2 sources at the same time.
The sound is really, really good. Even for open ear type of buds, you crank the volume up in public, you can’t really hear anything else. Not like you would use this all the time, but one use case was when they were used for running along a busy street with a train going by. Pretty impressive to me.
The last point I want to bring up is the price. For clip on ear buds, $200 msrp can be a big ask, especially when others in this category go for much less, if they are willing to go without a feature or two. For clip-ons, these are the premium versions to get. They can’t compete with proper over the ear noise cancelling ear phones of course, they are perfect for just wearing and forgetting about them. Calls were clear and I had no issue hearing the other person the line when we spoke.
I would recommend the Open Dots 2 by Shokz if you are looking for a good pair to work out with, like running and resistance to sweat. The charging shell, while very small, can be perfect for throwing in your bag for the day. The $200 may turn off some, but if you take the plunge, you won't regret it.

The Brother 5010 (MFC-J5010DW) is my 3rd Brother printer I have used, I am currently using the 1365 printer. The printers do seem to be getting better every year. I personally like the INKvestment as using the ink, monitoring and ordering more is a breeze. Now this could just be me, but the Brother 5010 printer is very fast and responsive.
The 2.4” touch screen does a great job responding to touch and doing any tasks you may have to do like cleaning the ink heads printing, or printing from Google Drive for example was easier than I thought it would be with the Mobile Connect app. This printer is perfect for home office use with what it offers. This is a very versatile printer that can do several jobs. I have not had the best luck with using printers on a network in the past, Brother has made these tasks pain free because they are responsive and quick at printing whatever is needed and showing the drives and files that can be printed.
The mobile connect app is one option in printing to go along with the phone, desktop, etc. It is handy as it shows all Printers you have registered and if they are showing on the network. Printer ink levels can be checked on both printer and app along with scan, copy, buy ink, support & printing options for regular or photo.
There was only 1 issue I came across with the Brother 5010 with my time with it thus far and that was with the set up process. When attempting to connect the printer to the app for initial registration, it never showed up. After inputting the model number and verifying this actual printer, it connected to the app and was usable immediately.
I recommend this printer for solid home use or home business due to the functions it can perform locally or online. Putting all the functions in the app and a snappy printer, I am happy with the performance and functions.

Somehow, someway, Sony out did themselves this year with the premium version of the WH-1000XM6. They updated multiple parts that equals one of the most comfortable pairs of headphones by far. Right when I put them on, the feeling was instantaneous. Both have similar tech inside like noise cancelling that is very effective, I love them both. But the difference is huge actually. The actual cans completely fit over my ears, enveloping them. The XM6’s never truly fit over my ears, while never really hurting the experience,this was always a slight annoyance. Another change this time is the metal sections on the sides that really help with the stability and premium overall feel.
The initial set up is through the Sony Sound Connect & works well with the overall experience. Set up was quick and I ran into no issues on set up. I like the options in the app for things like Ambient Sound Control that offers noise, ambient or off. Also, listening mode is interesting too. There are options like standard, Music, Cinema, Game & Background music. I liked the Cinema, it sounded like it did add some kind of audio flare that wasn’t there before. I plan on checking them all out in different situations and see how good they really are. The other setting I see on the app is the Adaptive Sound Control that changes depending on what you’re doing and where you are. The XM6 headphones have similar, if not identical effects as well.
I took a picture I included with the headphones on my PS5 with a similar color. I think they both look great together, but unless I have an adapter, I can’t use them on the PS5 as they use proprietary software for the console. There are 2 colors only of white & black. I had my doubts initially with the white leather they chose, but looks very nice up close. Lastly, the case it comes in is also an upgrade over the XM6 case. This has partly to do with the hinges that are changed. I brought them up earlier, but since there are less moving parts on the head band sections, this time just folding the phones inward is all you need to fit them in perfectly in the case. Too easy and I like it that way, it really helps keep them clean.
Let's get to the negative. The price! Yes, these are extremely expensive at MSRP, we can all agree on. The question is, are they worth it?? I keep going back and forth on this all night. The comfortability is off the charts here. Even with the inclusion of the metal, I can’t tell with the weight distribution, they are just very comfortable to wear. My first night, I think I wore them for over 2 hours testing them and never once did they feel cumbersome on or around my ears.
If you are comfortable with how the XM5 or 6 feel and are happy with them, I would advise you to stay there. Maybe wait for a sale? However as far as the best premium set of headphones, these are definitely them in my opinion. They are my new daily driver which is impressive considering that white is my least favorite color to wear. So if still interested, definitly pick these up, you'll be glad you did.

Bad: Extremely expensive at $650

The selling point of this set for TCL is the awesome screen it has. There is a ton of tech they have packed in this TV headlined by the new SQD-Mini LED technology. I have had an OLED monitor recently, and this set by TCL has an equally beautiful screen. The 75 inch screen needs to be seen to be believed. The tech in the screen uses deep color, super quantum dots, HVA 2.0 panel etc., that come together for a really complete amazing picture. If you can, check one out on display at a Best Buy.
Another highlight I have to talk about are the speakers. I have never seen a TV that has visible speakers on the back like this one does. TCL went all out and included Bang & Olufsen speakers that sound crazy good. This set is also the first one where a soundbar is not the needed accessory. There are connections for soundbars of course, but it seems like a waste of decent speakers on the TV itself. Great problem to have! Most TV’s I’ve seen have the standard 20 watts for sound. Apparently this set has 4, 15 watt speakers for 60 watts total. Very nice!
TCL seems to have catered to gamers, but only part of the way. They include all the goodies you would hope for in their game pack & game accelerator 288 software. FreeSync Premium Pro and super low latency. If you care about response times in your games, I highly recommend you activate this in settings. I found that it does make a noticeable difference in gaming. Beware however there is a drawback immediately: the color on screen takes a hit. For example, I personally always use the Vivid settings for color options. I have to sacrifice the beautiful colors for better response time. Another issue is with the TCL app software that you can download from the Android / Apple store to include it in with other TCL items you may have like other TVs or AC units. My problem was simply that it never worked for me. I didn’t need this to enjoy the experience in any way, so in the end, not a big deal for me. I just wish TCL would update their app for a better user experience. My last complaint I want to bring up is the connection option on the set. There are only 2 HDMI ports that support 2.1 and 2 are stuck on 2.0, with one also supporting ARC for soundbars. I have already felt this using a PC, PS5 & and a Switch 2. I ended up connecting the Switch 2 to the HDMI 2.0 port. Yet another reason why I love the speakers on this set!

This laptop is seriously impressive. The LG Gram Pro Max (GPM, Gram etc.) packs impressive specs into a very small package. I did some research on the 386H CPU included in this laptop and found that it is one of the newest chips Intel has released this year with excellent power. The GPU is a RTX 5050 that is labeled as a lower end gaming card. With the Gram having a top tier CPU, this laptop is about as good as you would want for a non gaming laptop. LG also put in 32 GB of RAM with a 1 TB SSD which should be adequate for use with the GPM.
I did some testing on the RTX 5050 just to see what the entry level laptop can do. I have included some pictures I took off my monitor at a resolution of 1440, however the Gram can go to 1600 resolution by default. Funny enough, playing most games on a widescreen monitor will fit better at 1440. I booted up Cyberpunk 2077 not expecting much at all, but was blown away by just how good the game looked running on the RTX 5050. Judge yourself on the pictures I have taken. The 5050 seems like it can handle all but the newest games really.
While I was overall very impressed by the performance, this does come at a cost, a rather hefty one, especially with the volatility in building RAM this year. This means that LG priced this at around $2500. Ouch. With this price, LG might be pricing this out of reach for most college students for example. If you do decide on this specific Gram Pro, you won’t be disappointed in the long run.
I do recommend this laptop overall. Top of the line specs with an equally expensive price tag, this feels more on the premium side of laptops. I plan on having this for many years in the future, so I for one am very pleased.

I chose this AC unit because the one I currently have is 2x bigger at 10,000 BTU and more than I need for just my room. This unit is 6,000 BTU for 250 sq. foot, so perfect for what I need with the bonus of a much smaller portable AC unit to share the space. Unlike my last AC unit, this TCL AC unit has an app to connect with to control everything about it.
I ran into a pretty big issue during connection of the TCL app to the internet. After much testing, I found out that a Google play services app for MATTER was starting up instead of the TCL app for set up. After disconnecting this setting, I immediately connected to the app and within seconds was done. For the record, I have a Pixel 10XL and do not know if it's just me or all Google phones? The good news is that one specific setting can be changed back after the set up is finished, that goes for getting off the 2.4 band as well.
After the software was sorted, I tested all the modes (ac, fan & dehumidifier) and worked really well. I made sure the AC was strong and cold, which thankfully it was. There was a mix up in the screws I received but that is getting corrected and really no big deal. I’m just glad the app works so well now to be honest.
I know the set up issue could be a deal breaker and hope the app gets patched asap to somehow override this setting. I still recommend this to everyone however. I personally love it and glad I have it for this coming summer. I rate this 4 out of 5.

I have had the Asus ROG Strix gaming monitor for about a week now as of this writing. I’ve been impressed every step of the way from just how thin and lighter than I imagined it would be, to the amazing image in 4K OLED. Really the only thing I can think off of the top of my head that could compare would be a LG or Samsung TV. The size of this specific monitor I am reviewing is the 32” that is also equipped with 240hz, .03ms response time that puts this monitor over the edge for best monitor for your gaming needs.
While I have included pictures to show off some beautiful visuals in gaming I have been enjoying, namely Mario Wonder in 4K on the Switch 2. Simply stunning to put it mildly. I also tried out Mario Kart World and Sonic X Shadow Generations on the PS5 & Resident Evil Requiem on PC, and was not disappointed in the slightest. With the refresh time and 4K visuals, I noticed my games felt easier to play. More responsive all around in every game.
I found a really good problem to have in that I have at least 3 systems fighting for that OLED screen time, which makes deciding what exactly to play a rather difficult decision. Unfortunately there are only 2 HDMI ports which is the norm for monitors, I would love it if there were at least 3 in the back. Along with HDMI ports, there are USB and a headphone jack port for speakers for audio, but know that they need to have their own power supply as this ROG monitor will not supply it.
As for monitors, the $999 price is steep, but you see where that comes from the second you lay your eyes on that screen. Now if price is not that huge of an issue, this is a no brainer for a monitor for gaming, movies, editing etc. I highly recommend this monitor to anyone interested as I feel it brings out everything you want from a 4K screen.
While I have included pictures to show off some beautiful visuals in gaming I have been enjoying, namely Mario Wonder in 4K on the Switch 2. Simply stunning to put it mildly. I also tried out Mario Kart World and Sonic X Shadow Generations on the PS5 & Resident Evil Requiem on PC, and was not disappointed in the slightest. With the refresh time and 4K visuals, I noticed my games felt easier to play. More responsive all around in every game.

Good enough to make it your new main controller

Having never used an Nacon controller before, I was admittedly in the dark on what to expect. My only experience with them was the excellent Robocop game that was released last year. After reading reviews on Best Buy, they showed that Nacon had built a rep for building quality controllers for years now with several different variations of controllers. The Revolution X Unlimited is the latest in a line that Nacon has released, this one for 2026. There are 2 color options available, white & a black variant. This specific version is the white version for Xbox, Android & PC. For this review, I tested the Rev X Unlimited controller from my laptop while I played through some Steam games.
My first impression when holding the controller in my hands was that it felt kinda perfect actually. It is bigger than an Xbox controller in width specifically and for good reason. The packaging is very well done here. Comes with a nice case to keep it protected, along with a usb cord for charging, charging base, a usb dongle, extra components like cross pad and different weights to put in the back of the controller on the bottom half, analog rings & 3 types of analog stick tops. I’ll be honest here, the initial weight & size felt close to perfect! I have never used such a smooth analog stick before on a controller. After comparing the 2, I put the MS branded controller away immediately! No contest. I didn’t add any weights or rings for a few days before experimenting. I found out that by adding the weights, changing which side was heavier, same or possibly less, the controller felt noticeably different. The options here are very nice and are plentiful that really can make you think long and hard exactly which goes with which that feels perfect for each game.
The screen used on the controller can manipulate different aspects of the controller. For example in one screen, there are options for gyroscope, mapping, audio and Bluetooth. There are however 3 main options to have the Rev X Unlimited use: Wifi (Android), via adapter (PC) & having the controller plugged in (Xbox) which is controlled by a switch on the back of the controller.
Getting to the point where I can just push the Xbox button and play however, is a very different story. This brings me to by far the biggest issue I currently have: initially figuring out the 3 main modes & their settings, especially mapping was a chore. I double checked the packaging, and Nacon did not supply specific directions for screen use or how to use the weights / rings in a booklet of sorts. For vets of these Nacon controllers or in general, maybe not a huge issue, but for a novice, this could be the difference in returning or keeping the controller. There are also buttons on the back specific to each mode, a profile button for different set ups like RPG, FPS, etc. Lastly there are switches that control the R/L analog buttons on top that can make them shorter and click like a mouse.
Part of the confusion was the desktop app Nacon uses for button mapping (ex.RGB control). My last sticking point on this controller for me is the price….$200! That is a really big ask, Nacon. I know these are marketed towards the pros, but still expensive nonetheless.
My verdict after 2 weeks using the Revolution X unlimited is a great controller, marred only by its price and lack of communication to explain the controller out of the box. The QR code included went to a bad address when I used it, hopefully Nacon will update this oversight asap. The excellent analog stick smoothness and how the controller is contoured to feel when gaming just might be worth the price of admission alone. All I know is, that this is my new default PC controller.

I’ve had the Shark TurboBlade fan & heater for around a week now. I live in CA and our weather changes throughout the day, so you have to be prepared for multiple scenarios. The fact that Shark built both a heater and fan in one device is such a nice bonus. The weather here lately is a great use case for this product. The temperature can be in the 40-50s at night, and reach mid 80s during the day.
First impressions out of the box was that the Turbo blade & heater were much bigger than I had in my head for some reason. Setting up the device was easy enough, took about 10 minutes to get the pieces connected and turned on. I have to say that the amount of air that comes out on the blades is impressive considering the size that is cut out for them. The center area is for the heater. From my time with, it worked just fine. I used the fan part more during the testing, but want to point out that switching between heat and fan is controlled by a crank on the side of the unit. This is the only way I have found to switch between the two. The changeover happened immediately to my surprise. No waiting for the heater to warm up and heat my room in minutes.
The Shark heater / fan has different options to control the air like oscillation and positioning the blade parts horizontal or vertical. One of the coolest parts of this unit has to go to the remote. Yes, the remote control. Something that I end up losing in the long run has been solved by Shark. They magnetized the remote to the back of the unit and I think it's perfect. The magnet is really strong actually. Like, just toss it on it and it will catch and reposition it strong. I feel Star War fans will appreciate this, I did.
My only real main complaint about this heater / fan combo is that while I can change the position of the blades vertical or horizontal, I only wish I could adjust the height of the unit! I have mine sitting next to my TV and if I could only lower it a few inches, I could have it underneath, saving even more space in horizontal mode. Lastly, the Shark Turboblade & Heater is priced msrp at $400. I feel the price is too much for what you get here. It’s a great combo unit that I hope will last me, but that is a very premium price for a heater/fan combo.
I can completely recommend this to anyone, granted they can find one on sale. I’m giving it 4 of 5 stars for the price and size.

This mini soundbar is an impressive piece of tech. I nearly looked past it, but the general consensus was solid online. The pictures piqued my curiosity because of the possibilities of how to use this soundbar at such a small size & price. I wanted to see if my wife and I could use it to boost the sound we are getting while using our tablet watching various things like football and listening to music primarily.
Appearance: While unassuming to look at with just 4 buttons on the top and a slightly off color speaker grill, I had to look in the booklet to find out exactly what these buttons did. While I appreciate that there is no white font showing what each does, my blind self couldn’t read what each button did initially. For the record, they are power, source, volume up, volume down, I also used the included remote that worked just fine as well. Nothing fancy and I like that.
Set up: While figuring out what each button did, again, very basic here that simply works. I mainly use this mini soundbar as a BT speaker, but also is HDMI compatible for TVs too. While it wouldn’t be replacing my actual TV soundbar, I feel better knowing I have a back up now just in case. After holding down the pairing to S9Ultra tablet was fast and easy. Took about a second to switch over to the soundbar. I also adjusted the bass and lowered it as I felt it was blocking out other sounds in the music I was playing. I haven’t had to adjust it since, which tells me that the sound this mini soundbar produces is solid.
Sound: Really excels here. My main test case impresses me every time. Specifically when listening to music on the tablet, I turn on the soundbar and when it switches over there is around 30% increase in sound. It is very noticeable every time and fills our room like the tablet wasn’t. For the record, this mini soundbar by Insignia is priced under $40 and over performs in this price range. Personally, I have to say how nice it is to have a very price competitive device that has several use cases with great sound. This fills the space of tech like tablets, phones or monitors that don’t quite have this level of sound.
I highly recommend this Insignia 2.0 mini soundbar if you have the use cases for it. While no Bose or Sony, it doesn’t need to be. A great companion to existing tech I already had around the house.

The game itself is great and enjoyable.
The activitation requirement to have Steam is unacceptable and ridiculous. If you could activate without requiring an internet and steam connection, this would be a much more acceptable scenario.

This PC comes with the latest version of Windows available. Just go to settings and download the latest update, the pc will do the rest unless you need to restart to finish the update.
