Big machine suction power*. But with cord-free versatility. The Dyson Cyclone V10 Animal cord-free vacuum has a 40% bigger bin than the previous V8 Animal and up to 60 minutes of fade-free runtime. The new torque drive cleaner head removes more dust from carpets, and suck up pet hair and ground in dirt. The Dyson Cyclone V10 Animal cord-free vacuum quickly transforms to a handheld for quick cleanups, spot cleaning and cleaning difficult places.*Suction tested to ASTM F558 at the flexible inlet.

Replaces an original Dyson

On MAX with the electrically powered brush spinning (using the battery as fast as possible) it is possible to vacuum all of my small house and do a quick pass on my car's ever-dirty carpets (beach life). This stick works way better than my original yellow Dyson (15 years of evolution). The real test will be the battery life. Fingers crossed for another 15 years would be naive. For this price I hope it is more than 5 years of weekly drains. 250 battery cycles? Doable.
Biggest downside? Draining a battery that fast generates a lot of heat. This design is better than in previous Dyson sticks (used a friend's before buying the V10). The V8 generates a near scorching heat between the thumb and index finger. The V10 gets warm but doesn't have a single spot that is overly hot.

New life, well, prolonged life

This SSD was installed on a 3rd generation i5 HP desktop bought in early 2013 (2012 release) along with an older graphics card and RAM maxed to 8GB. The HP boots quickly with no need to keep it on all day (power drain) to be able to sit down and go. It is ready in seconds. No longer a work machine, the HP is perfect for reading the news, playing solitaire or Sudoku, and web browsing.
For fun I also added Ubuntu after carving out a 40GB partition. No problem there either.
I highly recommend these drives to anyone who will listen. Prices are quite good right now. No reason to wait on slower technology from a time when the Internet meant AOL dial-up.

Better answers than Alexa or Siri

"Hey Google" isn't the most common phrase around the household but soon will be. Google gives vastly superior answers to questions over Alexa and Siri. This is my only Google Home at this location so I cannot speak to the ability to "Play on the Everywhere Group" like Alexa does, usually well. And the voice command light controls are not as intuitive with the Hue system as Alexa or Apple Home (winner in this category). Sound quality is adequate but I'd admit that the new Echo edges it in this category. I won't be reviewing Apple's speaker anytime soon due to expense.
Tapping into the power of Google's search engine over whatever garbage Amazon and Apple use (Bing, maybe?) is a rewarding experience and what makes the Google Home shine! As an experiment ask Google how to cook hard-boiled eggs in the oven. Then ask Siri and Alexa without wishing you could talk to their programmers. I haven't even asked Cortana. When will she be relevant to the discussion?

Hands free dimming of lights. Music on demand. Podcasts, weather forecasts, and news in a glowing circular flash. I wish Alexa could do a task at the set time. "Play Flash Briefing at 6:15 a.m. every weekday" gets a stumped response. But Alexa can do multiple repetitive alarms so its surely just a matter of time.
You should get an Echo but wait for a sale. Then maybe get two Echos.

Whistling noise
Is it normal for there to be a fairly loud, high pitched whistling sound coming from the back of the washer during the wash and rinse cycle when the water sprays? It happened on the very first use and continues to do so. How that this be fixed?
No, I don't hear any sounds from the machine now that I've installed water hammer arresters. Well, maybe the hum of the spin cycle but not what you're describing.

Can I skip cycles?
I wanted to just rinse and spin rather than go through the entire cycle. How can I skip forward?
