I have used APC Back-UPS for about ten years. In that time I have had to replace batteries twice and have had to replace each unit about a year after replacing the batteries. One battery back up shorted out and the second one lost output power to the left bank. However, considering the cost of replacing the back up units as opposed to the possibility of having to replace computers, printers, modems, and or routers because of brown outs or surges is minor.

Cost is too high. My previous printer was an Epson 4630 and only lasted one year before having print problems. I waited two weeks past the warranty date before I realized when the warranty was up. I used to like Epson printers as I had several through the years but their quality has gone bad.

Is this what I need?
I have a modem with 2 telephone inputs, router input, usb input, and one tv input. I would like to add another tv, is this the product I need? I will only be using one tv at a time, will it still affect the signal to the tv that is in use?
Yes, it could be used to split the signal between the modem and the other television. You may need a signal amplifier for the television if you get weak reception.

Compatibility Question
Would this work with Verizon FiOS? I need 2 way communication. The split will handle both the TV and Modem.
I am not really sure since Fios involves using fiber optic cable. I would think fiber optics would require a different set up.

What is the signal loss in dB?
Lowest signal loss I have seen is 3.5 dB up to 1 GHz. What is the signal loss in this splitter since it just says low loss.
I have no idea what kind of signal loss is involved, but I have used a signal amplifier in situations where I had weak reception.
